Stana has gone through alot of evolution in her posts. From the beginning she was a college age student wanting to keep in touch with those shehad left behind to their schooling as she ventured out into the "real world" She had dreams and aspirations, all of which were taken from her when she was snatched out of the comfort of her own world and thrust into the midst of an alien prophecy.
She still hung on to the thoughts that were dear to her, of friends, family, the future... and refused to be glamored by the fantastical things she was exposed to. She was different from the other Chosen in that she did not have any additional powers granted her in the world. She entered Narada the way she left Earth, in a Speed Racer shirt, sweat pants, with a backpack and a herbology book. Nothing she encoutered, Neither the Unicorn Clip, the powers of Empathy Teri revealed, the prophetic books detailing her "fate" nor the armies marching against them all, swayed who she was.
An amulet did that. The symbol of her "office" A small circle of Bloodstone and Emerald, a symbol reminiscent of a Yin/Yang, but not exactly that. It was a symbol of the balance of the element of earth, of its stability.
The amulet was broken. Because of that, Stana came under influence of forces not of her own making conmpletely. It warped her, true... but there was enough of her that was able to be warped.
I'd like to always think that Stana's story is the story of humanity. That no matter the form...the vessel that houses that humanity, one never loses a sense of who they are. In fact, I like to think that often they find themselves more than they lose. The path is jagged and hard, with turns and drops, but it's a path that has a destination--which may not be as important as the journey.
