Now That I've Found You

Prologue

October 2003

Lance Bass arrived in California two months to the day his fiancée Amaryllis Trenton died. As the plane
was landing, he thought about that, and how funny it was that he was going to California because of a vision she
sent on the two month anniversary of her death.
He was one of the first people off the plane, having been one of the few people seated in first class.  It was
a late night flight, so the airport wasn’t very crowded. Out of the corner of his eye he saw one of them, the people
he was looking for. Although he couldn’t see the guy’s eyes, he knew that he was the brother to the girl he was
looking for.
He tried to catch up to him, but Fate wasn’t on his side that night. He lost him in the small crowd of
people who suddenly appeared. He seemed to just disappear.
He was gathering his luggage from the baggage claim when he saw him again. He was walking with one
of the women who had been in first class with him.
“Is Kali doing any better, AJ?” the woman asked, as she grabbed one of the suitcases.
“She’s still the same,” the guy told her.
Lance was walking towards them, intending to talk to them. But they didn’t see him, walking away from
the baggage claim and out of the airport.
“Damn,” Lance said, staring at the people who were milling around. Once again, he lost sight of the guy.
But at least he knew that the twins existed, and that he wasn’t here on some futile mission. Now he had to
find an apartment, go back to Florida, drive to California with more of his things, and start on his search.
Lance found an apartment in Santa Monica, near the beach. Amaryllis had always loved the beach, and it
reminded him of her. It was soothing, comforting. How he missed her.
But ever since his vision of Amaryllis that night two weeks ago, he didn’t think of her much. Only at
times when he found something that reminded him of her, like the beach.
A week after he found the apartment- it was furnished luckily- he flew back to Florida and drove to
California so he’d have his car and more of his clothes. FreeLance was running smoothly, like always; he’d only
have to attend a few meetings every month. He could devote his time to his search.
He began his search for Kali Vaughn on a surprisingly cold day in the beginning of November. He had no
idea how hard it would be or if he would even find her. But ever since he’d seen her that day in the hospital, he
had been interested in her. And ever since that day in September, he was obsessed with finding her.
