paying to get her old one back, after Max learns the bill is $5 grand. O.c. hands max the want ads and Max notices something a little strange... her barcode. She thinks either Lyedecker or Zach left it in there... but is it safe to check it out? Of course Logan says no. The ad also lists an address. Despite Logan's objections she goes to meet whoever wrote the ad. Turns out its her old P.I. and he wants a lot of money for info on some other manticore kids. Max jumps at the oppurtunity but since Logan tries to hinder her by not giving her the money, she does it her way. She breaks into the impound that her bike's at, breaks open a safe and steals her bike back and some money. Then she preforms an airal jump that would make Evil Knevil proud. Over the fence and the guard's head she goes! The next day she's walking around ( I think she's supposed to be delivering something for Jampony) and she sees this big crowd. It's her P.I.'s laundry place and he's been shot and killed. At the same time we see Lydecker pull up. (He installed this chip or something into the P.I.'s head and heard Max's conversation with him. He knows that she will try and find out more info about her brothers and sisters so he's been tracking the P. I.'s moves. ) Max thinks that Lydecker was the one that killed the P. I. Jampony gets a new employee to replace Herbal b/c he was caught smoking a joint (or something). O.c., Sketchy, Max and of course Herbal aren't too happy about this especially since Max has to show him around. He (more or less) tries to put the moves on her and she totally blows him off (of course). This is when she's getting the coffee at the shop and waiting for her P. I. to call (He's not dead yet.).
Suprise suprise! it turns out that Jampony's new boy is none other than Zack!! yeah right? Wrong. He knows where the others are but won't tell Max lest he "compromises their positions." Max finds another ad and goes to check out the address there. I forget how but she manages to get inside Zack's apartment and she finds a bottle of Triptophane capsules. Someone attacks her, putting max in choke hold, while she desperately tries to tell him who she is. "Zack! it's Max," she yells and Zack lets her go. Zack wants max to leave with him on a train since Lydecker knows she's in Seatle. She says no and Zack yells @ her for staying. He then leaves but says that she turned out alright. ( a friend of mine is forever saying: you've got that right ! ; p) Max cries a little and then goes to see Logan. Logan says he's sorry that Zack didn't stay and Max is upset but knows that he's still too military. |
