This page is dedicated to my sweet, Dakota.

After loosing my most wonderful Golden Labrador over 8 months ago, I knew I wanted another dog at some point. I decided it would be best to adopt a dog from my local S.P.C.A. I had been there several times and always left heartbroken at the beautiful dogs left there to die. Not to mention the cats, bunnies, rats, birds etc...
So I finally decided it was time to rescue one of those dogs.
I went with my friend and we looked around at all them carefully. I can't help that Lab mixes are the ones that usually catch my eye so it seemed to be narrowed down to a few dogs.
My intention of buying this dog was for a family pet, and once I move out next summer he would either stay with my mother and brother or come with me.
Finally after carefully searching, this young beautiful Black Lab mix stood out. He was gentle and playful, who walked very well on a leash and could give a paw and sit. He was also housebroken :)
He was jet Black, with a tiny bit of white on his paw, a few hairs of white on his back and chest. He had been there for about 1 month.
He almost looked pure but I was certain he was mixed somewhere down the line, but I was not sure with what.
His orginial name was Lucky, but I changed that to Dakota, Cody for short. He is 10 months old and very smart and attentive. He is such a big baby and totally willing to please.
Knonwing he was mixed, I asked around and from what most experienced people told me, he must be mixed with Pit Bull, he just had that type of adorable face.
He doesn't look like a direct cross because is so Lab, but Im sure he's Pit Bull somewhere! Either way, he was the most brillant dog, after my beloved Goldie :)

***Sadly Cody was such a hyper bundle of energy, so much so that he would jump our fence time and time again and run away because he wanted lots more exercise then the large amount that we already gave him. We decided it would be best for him to live somewhere with space and no restrections (ie. a fence). We gave him to a friend of my Aunt's in the country on a large farm where he can run and play for hours and hours to his hearts content. The people love him and are happy to have such a sweet and playful dog. My dear Cody, I just hope you are happy once again.***
