History

The Beginning: Mark's first big break in professional wrestling was in the USWA. Mark was successful in the federation, with other superstars such as Jerry Lawler which he had beaten for the USWA Heavyweight title.

Life in WCW: Mark began pro. wrestling in 1989. His big wrestling debut was in the old WCW as Mean Mark Callous as a tag team partner with Danny in the Sky Scrappers replacing Sid Vicious while he was out on injury. Mark and Danny captured the Tag Team titles and were a popular force in the federation. After a while the once successful WCW was slowly losing its popularity and the WWF now WWE became the number one federation. Danny left due to bad business decisions and Mark soon followed with out another job behind him. On his way out, Mark was told he would not amount to anything in the wrestling business, but how wrong were they.

Going to the WWE: Mark didn't take this to heart and went to see Vince at the old WWF to get a job. At first they didn't have a place for him but soon enough Mark got a phone call telling him he's got the job. Vince came up with his character, his design and his attitude, Vince created the Undertaker. Mark was allowed to make the character his own and he has done that. Undertaker started off as a heel he had a western look, with a long jacket and a western hat. He was a mystery partner for the 'Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase and he made a big impact and in fact won the match.

First WWE Title Win: In 1990 Undertaker won the title from Hulk Hogan at Survivor Series. This was the true symbol of things to come. He had the help of Ric Flair providing a chair for Undertaker to Tombstone Hogan through and get the one, two, three but all heels cheat.

Undertaker Dies: At the end of 1993 the Undertaker began to feud with Yokuzuna. At Royal Rumble 1994 they fought in a casket match for the WWF title. The Undertaker was about to win the match when 10 heel wrestlers interfered and helped Yokuzuna put Undertaker in the casket to win. After the match Undertaker appeared on the big screen and gave a short speech on how he would not rest in peace and would return for revenge. After the speech the lights went out and Marty Jannetty dressed as the Undertaker was raised up to the roof of the arena in the crucifix position giving the angle that Undertaker ascended to heaven. In real life Mark just needed time off to handle some family matters.

Two Undertakers: About 5 months after the Undertaker "died" at Royal Rumble Ted DiBiase began claiming on WWF television that he had the Undertaker. Paul Bearer came out weeks later and said he had the Undertaker and that DiBiase was lying. A match was signed for SummerSlam 1994 for the two Undertakers to fight each other to see who actually had the real one. Paul Bearer had the real Undertaker of course and Ted DiBiase just had Brian Lee dressed as the Undertaker, his best friend in real life. Undertaker beat Brian Lee at SummerSlam with three tombstones and the Fake Undertaker was never seen and barely talked about on WWF television again.

Kane's Debut: Kane who is played by Glen Jacobs, the Undertaker's brother who was burnt in a fire when he was young. Undertaker and Kane were playing with matches and caused the fire killing their parents and scaring Kane. Undertaker did not know Kane survived because he was hidden by Paul Bearer. In 1997 Paul Bearer came on WWF television and told the story and that Kane was still alive. Kane finally appeared at Bad Blood 1997 and attacked Undertaker during his match.

Second WWE Title Win: Undertaker won the title a second time from Sycho Sid at WrestleMania 13 in 1997. The Undertaker was an unstoppable force and there was no telling what else he would accomplish. Undertaker held the title for a further three months until Bret Hart beat him for it with the aid of Shawn Michaels with a wicked chair shot.

The Ministry of Darkness: Later in his career, Undertaker started a ministry with followers such as Edge, Christian, Gangrel and the Acolytes. This force had a vision to rule the WWF and run Vince to the ground. Again Undertaker was the antagonist, sacrificing the likes of Steve Austin and beating up The Rock. Soon the ministry joined with the corporation run by Vince and Shane McMahon. This time Undertaker was part of something that wasn't derived from him. This was the last facet of the dark side era.

Third WWE Title Win: The Undertaker beat Stone Cold in 1999 to win the WWF title for the second time but lost it to Austin soon after on the old Raw is War. Still these two were great enemies and many battles on they still hated each other.

Persona Change: Undertaker had consider leaving the WWF due to his injuries and wonder whether his body could hold up any longer but decided not to quit in the midst of self-doubt. Undertaker took a leave of absent for nearly a year due to a back injury at the end of 1999 and came back revamped. He was the biker Undertaker, the American Bad Ass. He made a comeback at Judgment Day 2000 coming to the aid of The Rock by beating the living hell out of the McMahon-Helmsley faction.

Brothers of Destruction: The fans were behind Undertaker and his new alliance with his brother Kane. They were an unstoppable force especially when they captured the Tag Team titles. Undertaker's wife Sara also joined along the brothers to show a whole new sentimental side to Undertaker with his family involved.

The Invasion: When the invasion of WCW and ECW arrived Undertaker stood by the WWE. He was loyal to the federation and fought in the Survivor Series match up. The WWE won the match but soon after that great day Taker was fed up. Fed up of the disrespect he was shown and how he sucked Vince's @*** for 12 years, so he said. This was the turning point of Undertaker and again he was the heel. Undertaker went for a complete makeover and cut his hair short, died it black and changed his costume slightly, this was a new era for the Undertaker.

Hardcore Title: Win At WWE Vengeance 2001 Undertaker won the Hardcore title from RVD, this proved that Undertaker could win any title and now he had the most violent of them all. He was not to be messed with. Undertaker lost the title to Maven due to The Rock's interference making himself a target for the Deadman.

The Draft: When the draft was issued due to the brand extension, Undertaker was Flairs first draft for RAW. Undertaker wasn't happy as Flair was his number one enemy at that point after beating Flair at WrestleMania and wasn't sure why he was picked as he beat the hell out of Flair's family.

Fourth WWE Title Win: Undertaker captured the title at Judgment Day 2002 from the returning Hulk Hogan and this saw a turning point in Undertaker's future. Soon after he won the title he had feuds with many superstars such as the Rock, Triple H and the Hardyz. Some events showed a changed in Undertaker's personality and possibly a sign of him turning face as he finally thought he was getting the respect he deserved.

Best Triple Threat in History: and then the Un-Americans At Vengeance 2002 Undertaker faced the Rock and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat which was said to be the best ever Triple Threat match-up. Undertaker lost the match to the Rock but soon after the defeat Taker turned face again. He had a new enemy called the Un-Americans, Lance Storm, Christian and Test. On RAW 2002 he sided with the Rock, Booker T and Goldust against these three and Triple H which was an excellent match, however Undertaker lost to Test's Big Boot. A match was then scheduled at SummerSlam 2002 for Undertaker and Test to settle their unfinished business and Undertaker won the match to shut the Un-Americans up.

SmackDown! Defector: The Undertaker defected to SmackDown! after being the number one draw for RAW. On that night he became the number one contender for the WWE Undisputed Championship against Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit, after recently losing it to the Rock. He was to face Brock Lesnar, the current champion at Unforgiven. There was a big lead up and Undertaker finally got the legendary status with past clips of the old days. Sara also returned with child and Brock and Heyman used this to their advantage to make this personal to the Undertaker. The Undertaker was changing again with content music changes. He lost to Brock Lesnar by DQ leaving the battle ongoing and continuing at No Mercy.

Fifth Hell in a Cell: The Undertaker had challenged Brock Lesnar to a brutal Hell in a Cell match even though he had a broken hand due to Lesnar. The Undertaker and Brock fought until they were drained of all their blood, leaving Undertaker vulnerable for the F5 and the one-two-three.

The End and then the Return: The Undertaker after losing Hell in the Cell decided his body wouldn't hold up any longer and sounded like he was going to announce his leaving. Brock and the Undertaker had a mutual agreement but the Big Show wasn't happy about this. After Taker left the ring Show walked up behind the Deadman but Taker was cautious. Show went back stage but as Taker was showing his respect to the crowd, he body slammed Taker off the stage onto the concrete floor. The Deadman returned as the 30th entry of the 2003 Royal Rumble, he and Lesnar were the last two but Taker turned his back for a second only to be eliminated. Taker had made up with Brock but the Big Show was still a big target.

Teacher and Student: A new man appeared on the scene and appeared to want revenge on the Deadman but it turned out to be wrong. Nathan Jones an ex-criminal was being trained by 'Taker and soon the two watched each others backs. Scheduled for a tag-team match at WrestleMania XIX against the Big Show and A-Train the two looked promising together but Nathan Jones was taken out by Show and A-Train to leave it as a handicap match. 'Taker didn't back down and came out to the theme tune of Rollin' one of his previous music entrances. Big Evil defeated the two making him 11-0 at WrestleMania.

Respect: As things rolled on in mid 2003 the Undertaker was still roaming his yard and looking out for the rookies and giving them advice. One individual by the name of John Cena showed no respect at all for Undertaker or anybody else for that matter. At Vengeance 2003, the Deadman beat respect into him by winning with a Lastride.

Buried Alive: As time went by Taker got back into the top spot and was to face Lesnar at No Mercy, the two had a previous feud but this time there was no chance of a mutual respect occurring. This match was set at No Mercy but wasn't an ordinary match but a Biker Chain match, Taker was more focused than ever before mentally and physically going into No Mercy. Vince McMahon stopped Taker in his tracks from becoming the new WWE Champion thus starting the era of the Deadman vs. Vince McMahon. A Buried Alive match was the only option Taker had to stop Vince breathing in and out and continue his goal to be the five time WWE Champion. The Deadman pulverized Vince but an unexpected interference from his psychotic brother Kane meant that the Undertaker was buried alive instead.

It All Begins Again: After months of waiting for the Undertaker's return at WrestleMania XX we would finally see the Deadman return to take on his younger brother Kane. Leading up to this match mind games every Monday night on Raw saw Kane become scared and look as if he actually feared the Undertaker. On WrestleMania day the Undertaker returned but not alone by his side was Paul Bearer, Kane's father and Undertaker long time manager holding the urn as Taker arrived through the flames of the Druids. Undertaker had yet again changed he had unleashed his darker side again, sporting the western theme he once had and also parts from his ministry days. Kane and Taker battled it out, but the end result was Taker 12 - 0 at WrestleMania defeating Kane with a Tombstone, signify the Dead has arisen...again.
