It’s a beautiful day. The birds are singing, grass is green, children running happily around. But if you go down the street, all the way to the end, you’ll see a old house. This is ‘Spooky line 666’ and there lives our little girl, Tess and her twin brother. They are outside, playing in the yard. Derrick is trying to put together a ‘playhouse’ (it looks just like in the movie ‘cubby house’!!) but does not seem to be getting anywhere. Tess is hanging in the only tree in the yard by her tail, upside down, reading a comic book. “Why is this so complicated, it seas ‘do it your self’. Isn’t it suppose to be EASY!!!” Derrick throws the screwdriver away. “It is easy, you just have to be SMART.” Tess seas “just read the instructions” “Hey, I’m smart enough. But I can’t see out what the instructions mean. Like what is this supposed to be!!” Derrick points at the drawing of the house, “LIKE WHERE IS THIS PART SUPPOSED TO GO, HUH!!” Derrick points like crazy at the same spot again and again. Tess: “Try looking at what this is first. THEN maybe something comes out right.”. Derrick: “I know what this is, this is… Ooh… ‘turn to page 11 to construct this peace’. I didn’t see that there before.” Tess: “Of curse you didn’t. You didn’t look!! OOW, my head hurts. Why do headaches hurt!!” She holds her head for awhile, than continues reading the comic. Derrick: “If you were smart enough, you wouldn’t be hanging upside down for so long, and might I ask why you’re doing that?”. Tess: “I saw it in this comic. Someone in it has a tail and was always hanging on his tail. I wanted to try it.” “What comic are you reading?” “THE X-MEN” “And who is always hanging upside down?” “Him.” Tess shows Derrick the comic. Pointing at some blue guy with a tail. “You are imitating ‘Night-crawler’? Why are you imitating him?” “He’s got a tail like me!!” Tess answers and then falls down from the branch she was hanging on. “OOWW” Tess rubes the back of her head. “I’m not doing that again!” she stands up and runs inside. “What was that all about?” Derrick looks at the comic lying on the ground. “THE END!, no wonder she fell, the story was over. Hehe.” Derrick laughs a little and then continues to build the ‘playhouse’. Tess is in her room, looking trough a cardboard box full of comics. She finds one about gargoyles. “Cool!!” takes the comic and runs to the kitchen. She starts looking in the cupboards. Outside Derrick has finished the base of the playhouse. Sandra is outside too. She is watching Derrick build his house. Sandra: “Hi Derrick, do you know where Tess is?” Derrick: “She’s inside. Why?” Sandra: “I just wanted to ask her if she would come and play. What are you building?” “I’m trying to build a cubby house. Oow! Want to help?” Derrick bangs his finger. “Sure!” Sandra jumps over the fence. “Can I go inside and see if I can find Tess??” “Sure, just don’t touch anything, OK?” “Yeah, whatever” She runs inside. “Tess, are you inhere. Come out.” Sandra walks trough the hall, there are so many spooky things here. An old grandfather-clock, some stuffed live animals, breathing gargoyle statue, ?? Breathing statue!!! “AARRRGGGGG” Sandra screamed and ran out, past Derrick and straight home. “What’s with the screaming??” Derrick stood up and was going to see what had been so scary, there were many scary things inside but what had scared her so. He turned around and saw a black-purple gargoyle standing in the doorway holding a sandwich with chocolate-butter. “What??… Tess!! Why are you a gargoyle?” Tess took up a comic and held it in front of Derricks face “I found it in the comic-box, its about GARGOYLES!!!” “But you scared the hell out of Sandra!” “I DID?? That’s so funny. I was going to go over to her and scare her, but she came so I didn’t have to go. Hehe.” “Oookkkeeyy, so what’s with the sandwich?” “Ooh, I was just hungry.” She takes a bite of her sandwich and walks inside.
