It is extremely odd isn't it, how you can end up devoting your spare time to the creation of something which you would so rarely do normally.  An example is RolePlaying, not something I have devoted myself to except in the fashion of trying to improve and create new things for it. 

   Macross has been around for some 20 years at this point and has been viewed as one of the most popular anime ever made.  However for gamers/otakus there has been no way to play such a game unless you buy one of the very few platform games (which rarely give the feel you are looking for).  Palladium held the rights to Macross II and Robotech RPG for several years but no one ever did anything with the mainstream story of Macross, the reason?  Money.  Buying the rights to the universe would simply be far to expensive due to its popularity.  Thus it was up to fans to try and create such a game.  I have seen at least 2 such attempts to create the game, however personally as well done as they were I did not feel they offered the fun that many people desired.  So I began the other day completely reinventing the system myself to try and create a fun game for my fellow macross fans and role players.  It is currently in its early stage with me trying to come up with ideas for methodology but I shall post all updates as they become available.  At current, status is as follows:

  Considering I've been at it for 2 days, its a good amount of progress.  The system is meant to be very loosely based on a combination of Palladium, D&D, and FASA systems.  I will also be using the widely accepted statistics for all ships, mecha, and characters unless it is otherwise impossible to fit them into the gaming system.  I'll keep you all updated.
