| Scariest Places on Earth
is a Fox Family Channel show that is hosted by Linda Blair and
deals with various places around the world that are allegedly haunted. The shows usually start with Alan Robson (pain in the ass) yakking about ‘why would anyone want to go here’ blah blah. Well I say ‘Screw you Alan Robson’ the show would be like 50% better without him and that evil little mini-lady from the poltergeist movies. Like I was saying, after he ramble on aimlessly, the bring out some history of the place and there are usually various paranormal investigators, mediums, psychic, etc. that go through the place and check it out to see if there is any sort of a haunting. (I found out that the people that they have investigating the place usually don’t really know anything about the place in question, so they are the real thing.) Occasionally they have a family thing, where a family gets chosen to go into a place and they are rigged up with cameras, equipment, etc. and they have to spend the night in a place and try to document any activity and to determine if it is haunted. I originally was going to put this page up with proof that the different places from the show are actually haunted and are true, documented things. I started research with the episode that was taped here (New Orleans), at Magnolia Lane Plantation. I was intrigued because I had never heard of it prior to the show, and no one seemed to know that it even existed. So I got to asking around, beginning with the local ghost tours, and one of them directed me to Mimi Lansou, who was on the show investigating the house. She runs an occult shop in the French Quarter, so she wasn’t hard to track down. Click HERE to read what I was able to dig up on the house. What I found out from Mimi, upset me a little bit, but she did say that they are honestly trying to find out if it’s haunted, so I figured, they have a show to put on so they have to dress it up a bit. Little did I know... Upon researching and communicating to various people, what I soon found out really pissed me off, for lack of better words. There are several accounts of where they edit different bits of the show to make it look like something happened that really did not. The Jersey Devil episode is a PERFECT example of this. They edited it in a way that made it seem like Laura (one of the Jersey Devil Hunters) saw something int e woods and went totally mental. I managed to find the website they featured on the episode, and they have what Laura actually saw. Click HERE to go to their webpage. I’ve also found some articles pertaining to the Athens, Ohio show . The person the producers contacted is a Athens historian and ‘ghost expert’. He shared with them, true, documented hauntings in the area and from the different places the show went to. Upon the show airing, he was appalled. 95% of what they were saying on the show was absolute B.S., he even got a phone call from an associate who was upset and wanted to know why he told them those lies, the thing is that he didn’t. I’m to the point where I don’t know what to believe anymore. I know from what I learned from Mimi, and the places are haunted. It’s the stories they give you before hand that are horseshit. I’m highly upset because I really dug the show, and I’m to the point where I don’t want to be bothered anymore. I got the one of the producers’ personal e-mail address from the Jersey Devil website and this is my two cents I gave him:
The Scariest Places website If you know anything about any of the places they have featured, please e-mail me, I’d like to put it up on my site. |
