About Us
It is my hope that this page will become sort of a home to Vader fans around the world. A place to look for information, and meet others like myself. There are a lot of sites that offer pieces of information out there, but might leave a lot out. Hopefully, you can come here to find all the information you want, or at least be pointed to where you can find it.
This site will also give Vader suit owners a structured organization to belong to. Alongside the 501st, we will be able to coordinate cons, meetings, and gatherings in costume where troopers might want to request a Vader present, or vice versa. Once things get rolling, certain people will be chosen and given an area and be responsible for and keep other members within it informed. They will also be able to keep in touch with the garrison commanders to keep abreast of what is going on in the 501st, and inform them in turn about us.
It is my hope that this will bring us all together, instead of having individual Vader suit owners spread out and not knowing who else is nearby or where they can go to wear their suit. Hopefully, it will also bring us and troopers closer together, so that when we do suit up we can do it with troopers present. Nothing looks better than Darth Vader leading a contingent of troopers.
A little about myself. I have been a Star Wars fan since I was seven and my father took me to see the movie when it first came out . Now that I am 29, my love for it has only grown. I spent many nights dreaming of what it would be like to be the Dark Lord of the Sith as a child. My dreams of being Darth Vader came into being last year when I was surfing the net looking for a Halloween costume. It blew my mind that I could actually buy a movie quality suit!! Now I really could be the infamous Dark Lord after so many years.
Now Halloween is approaching again and it seems there still a hundred things I need to do to the suit before then. If you are thinking about getting one of these, think long and hard. It involves a lot of patience, passion, commitment, and yes a lot of money. There is a lot that goes into owning a suit as intricate as Vader's. It seems there is always something to improve or modify, painting the armor, adjusting the boots to the right height, producing the breathing sounds, etc. Is it worth it in the end? You bet it is:)
There is nothing better than the first time wearing the suit and looking in the mirror. To stand there and see Vader himself staring back at you is a sight indeed. Wearing it in public is like nothing else, it's great to see grown men turn into little kids again when they see you. Little kids are even better, they have the same look of absolute awe and amazement that I had when I was a kid.
There it is. I hope you will enjoy this site and take something away with you. Please feel free to suggest changes or improvements, but please keep in mind that this is my first web page ever. More importantly, I hope this site will do something to ignite that forgotten love of Star Wars within you, or bring you to a new level where you will one day don a suit and join our ranks. Most of all, it is my hope that you never stop loving that place in a galaxy, far, far, away.
