Basic Rules for online Roleplay
It seems that there are those out there that like to play online but dont know the Basic Rules that have been developed by the ones that have created it.
Granted all realms are different but yet, all Basic rules are the same. So I developed this page to teach.
: a person has not entered if they haven't posted in the room. therefore do not greet them when you just see their name, especially if they never introduced themself before.
( just cause you see their name on the screen doesn't mean you know them)
: all ooc and real life is to stay out of roleplay, unless you want to develop it into a story, therefore do not attack someone for something they did to you in real life or another character and try to remember its a character that they are playing, and not the person behind the screen.
: all thought bubbles, profiles, and personal messages are ooc, therefore if you use something that you know about that person or character that they themselves didnt tell you then that is crossing.(example: if a characters profile says there name is Joe the Vampire and that character didnt tell you that, dont say " hi Joe.. did you feed off of anyone today?"
: reading thoughts and actions as " word " is also crossing. therefore if they didnt "say" it you didnt hear them. (example: if a character posts that hes thinking about how tasty someone is, then that someone cant comeback and say " Im not tasty" cause the chatacter didnt actualy " say" ......" hey you look tasty"
Back Home
: Vampires are dead, therefore they have no feeling nor can they bring children into this world in a so called natural Human way. You can NOT be Born a Vampire. You must be Sired into it by a member of the clan to be considered a full vampire. You can not be half Human and half Vampire because vampires can Not produce living sperm to inpregnate a woman ( only by a special ring or charm can this be done, this is not usually done because the child would be then considered an abomination by other vampires and would most likely be killed on the spot. )
: Most actions and thoughts are posted with a colon ( : ) or a seperation of some sort to divide the speeking words from the latter and most speeking words are posted in quotes ( " ) unless it is just talking by itself. (example:  : looks at the stranger with a tilt of the head " why, whatever do you mean?")
: Yes, in most cases spelling is important, especially during a fight, cause if you can't read what someone posted then how do you know what they did?  Most realms allow one or two mistakes per post before they call it invalid, but in a t2 situation thats half your sentence so remember to check your spelling before you post cause sometimes its not only speed that can kill you.
:Remember the Basic Rules of Thumb, remember to post the person's name of who you are referring to in every three or so post, so that others can respond properly and not having to ask " him who?".
