| Logan Goes Missing Logan found himself drawn northward after deciding to take a small leave of absence from the Mansion. After a 2 day trip he had settled in to a local dive in Burlington Vermont. Here he was jumped by 12 men. During the struggle he was surprised to find himself in a drug-like state and almost unable to defend himself. Letting the beast loose he managed to hold them off for a few minutes before he was beaten senseless. When Logan failed to 'check in' with Professor X, he became concerned. After a global scan for Logan turned up nothing the Xavier put together a recovery task team consisting of Remmy, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat and Psylocke. The X-Men were able to track him down to the bar, but could go no further. They did find that his bike was impounded at a local police station. After checking in with Professor Xavier they were told to leave everything as is and return to Westchester. Upon arriving ion Westchester Professor Xavier and Jean used Cerebro down transfer the mental images of the scene into an electronic format. A priority meeting was called with senior members of the X-Men and it was decided to call in the World's Greatest Detective to assist with the case. |

| Batman was contacted by Professor Xavier and asked to come to the mansion He brought Nightstick with him from Gotham. Upon arrival the met in Xavier's private Study (yes the one all teched out) Also joining them in the room were Cyclops and Jean. The Professor then informed Batman as to the situation and gave him a downloaded copy of the remembered images from the scene. He also included on the disc some personal information of Logan's: 1. That he is prone to disturbing flashbacks 2. That he was in some form or another subject to violent experimentation due to his mutant abilities 3. That at one time in the past he was found wandering northward unbeknownst to him. He was also given a piece of brown flaxen material that was found on the scene. He was told, and confirmed for himself later, that it was native to a plant in Canada used for making clothing. Batman asked to be able to use the PC in the room and was granted permission. When he went to view the DVD he was asked by Xavier: "I would prefer if that were not viewed here" Batman said he would let them know what he found and left with Nightstick. Cyclops again raised his customary cautions and concerns but agreed they had no other choice. Xavier and Jean go to Cerebro to work out a 24/7 schedule to scan for Logan's mutant signature. Batman and Nightstick head back to Gotham. Upon arrival he fills in Dark Justice. Spiderman begins doing a computer search of all known Hero and Villain teams in Canada. Batman puts Oracle on the job and tells her to specifically look for government ties as he learned from Xavier that Logan had once been a member of Alpha Flight. Spidey found that Alpha Flight was the country wide Hero Team and had bases in all the major provinces. He also found that they were sponsored by the Canadian Government. Oracle hacked into the Top Secret secured government files and was able to download a significant portion of the Weapon X data. She immediately began a decryption program and used Spidey's Backtrace Inhibitor Program in conjunction with a False Trail to suggest a possible S.H.I.E.L.D. connection in the electronic theft if the possibility her incursion was detected and a backtrace was done. Batman then took Nightstick to Burlington in the ATV to investigate the scene. They wound up sneaking into the police impound yard. There they found one saddle bag to be almost completely empty save a well chewed stogie and another blue colored piece of flaxen. The second saddle bad was stuffed to the point of breaking. Upon return to Gotham Oracle was able to decrypt information about the Weapon X project. Batman communicated this information to the X-Men only to find that Xavier was in a psychic coma due to a very violent telepathic scream received from Logan. The images were retrieved by Jean and displayed electronically. The view was as if from Logan's eyes. It appeared as if he was laying horizontal in casket-like bin filled with liquid of some sort. As he looked down his body his flesh was penetrated with numerous tubes and wires. The scene shifted as he lifted his left hand. It was marked with small red interconnecting circles. The vision shook as Logan's claws came into view. They were extended, the two innermost claws were bone and the open wounds were bleeding somewhat freely. At this point the vision blurs into a reddish haze as two 'demonic' figures approach and subdue Logan. His screams are primal and this is where Xavier's vision abruptly ends. Cyclops is acting leader in Xavier's absence. Batman informs Cyclops that he believes Logan might be at an old abandoned Government Scientific Military base in Alkali Canada. He then asked for another member of the X-Men to accompany them on their rescue mission. [Insert Cyclops conditions to Batman] He gave them an hour to decide. After much deliberation between Senior members the decision came down to Cyclops. The back door to the kitchen solar atrium opened and Jean was escorted out by Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Beast. As Batman waited by the Batwing Jean said her goodbyes and Batman was well aware of the connection between the two. The headed back to the batcave. On the way Batman asked her not to reveal his secrets. Jean made reference t o Cyclops request as well. [Get from Gary] In the cave he revealed he was Bruce Wayne. They gathered additional info and prepared the ATV for the climate and trip, and also prepared special Arctic survival suits incorporating each heroes individual equipment. Spiderman worked with Nightwing and they created a Snow-white terrain costume for him. Spidey did very well in learning the beginnings of the suit creation process. All suits were colored to blend in to the surroundings. Robin re-enforced the Arctic Survival lessons that Batman asked everyone to go over. He took this opportunity to assert himself as secondary leader in case of emergency. He also used it to bring forth everyone's concerns, fears, and weaknesses to unite the group and prepare them for the harsh arctic survival. They deliberated over how to get there as the storm had reached the states as well and almost every major road was closed down. Batman suggested taking the ATV to Metropolis and using the telelporter in S.T.A.R. Labs to transport the ATV and themselves to Seattle. Jean questioned him on the technology and it's reliability. He assured her the risks were minimal. They all acquiesced. From Seattle they took an overland route and spent a few days crossing the Canadian border (Discreetly) |
