Eye color: Blue Hair color: Black Powers: None. Weapons: As for weapons, Nightwing employs numerous hidden gadgets in his gloves, belt, and boots. These include monofilament decel jumplines and grapnels, customized Batarangs, gas capsules, rebreather, swing lines, medical kit, tazers, fighting sticks, and other devices. For transportation, Nightwing uses his customized car and boat. He once employed a motorcycle. Nightwing�s costume made from a special weave of Nomex fire-resistant and Kevlar bulletproof materials which can absorb the blows of punches and long range, weak bullets. From time to time he employs retractable "wings" which release and retract on his command allowing him to glide along currents much in the same way as the standard glide cape. While this allows for increased gliding ability, it lacks the capes ability to be used as a distraction to show a larger target for enemies to shoot at. History: Richard John Grayson was born on the first day of Spring to John and Mary Grayson, the famous trapeze artists. Called Dick, Richard was raised and trained in acrobatics and the trapeze by his parents to join in performing in the Haly Circus. One day the circus came to Gotham City, where the Flying Graysons stood for photos, where they met the Drake family. From that day on, Tim Drake, idolized Dick, after seeing him for only once. As part of the traveling circus's high wire act "The Flying Graysons," Dick Grayson witnessed his parents' death while they performed at the Haley Circus. A two-bit extortionist, Tony Zucco, cut the wire to gain kickbacks from the circus owner. Bruce Wayne, who was in the audience, felt an instant connection to the boy and took him in. Wayne provided him with a home, solid financial support and taught him new skills, adding to his tremendous gymnastic abilities. Eventually, Bruce Wayne allowed Grayson access to his most private world as his partner, Robin. Dick Grayson attended Gotham State University causing him to spend less time as his alter ego, but it allowed him to form a closer relationship with fellow classmate Barbara Gordon. Little did Dick know that Babs also led a double life as the hero Batgirl. It upon Dick's graduation from GSU, that things began to fall apart in his life. His relationship with Bruce had become greatly strained, as it does between all fathers and sons, and his relationship with Barbara was suffering because of it. Everything came to a head soon there after, when Bruce finally allowed Barbara into the Bat family inner circle, and almost immediately risked her life on one of Batman's missions. Now Dick's whole life was gone, his working relationship with Batman was in pieces, and his relationship out side of crime fighting was gone to. With having nothing left for him in Gotham, he left. Dick spent the next 3 years touring the world, and acquiring new crime fighting skills, while trying to piece a life outside of Gotham together. When he finally returned to Gotham, the boy wonder that he was, was gone. Dick moved to New York City, where he led the New Teen Titans and adopted a new costume and the name Nightwing. He currently calls Bludhaven home and it�s Nighttime protector. |
| Nightwing is a skilled detective second only to the Dark Knight himself. What he lacks in raw intelligence (something he has a great surplus of), he makes up for in his incredible leadership skills. One time Robin, trained by Batman himself, is near-perfect acrobat and athlete. He is nearly-perfect in hand-to-hand combat. Nightwing favors the fighting styles of Aikido and Jeet-Kune-Do. |
