Along The River
The lonely man approches the shore,
Without value and with careless steps.
With a sigh he carries forward slovingly,
With regret for unrealized dreams-
Too fleeting to be seen.
The sun warms his face,
But his heart remains broken for all to see.
He cannot conceal his discontent;
Perhaps the night will provide denial,
It masks his pain in shadows.
Along the river he searches for peace of mind.
He dreams up a scene of serenity,
But the river washes away all hope.
The last glimmer of life fading away,
The river calls seductively.
