EHA in Cimarron 1.5

    July
    The Open Road

We made our way to Cimarron, New Mexico. Dr. No said we needed a vacation
and since I was on Summer vacation and didnt need to be back at school
for some time it looked like a good idea. I didnt know that New Mexico was
    a twelve-hour drive from home.

We started our trip at six in the morning. This is normally when Dr. No
goes to sleep but hes up at this time and loading the Blazer and ready to
go. He made the rules clear. No one speeds, and they all follow him
    because he knew the path.

The first stop was for breakfast at a place called BETCO Junction. It was a
truck stop and a pretty good place for a good breakfast. The place was
clean from top to bottom. The waitresses didnt look like anything out of
what you think a truck stop waitress would be. Or at least what I thought
they would be. They werent old women with the beehive hairstyle and the
pineapple earrings that chew three-month-old bubble gum. Ours was a
collage-aged girl with raven black hair, no earrings, and was chewing bubble
    gum.

After that great breakfast we were back on the road. At about nine oclock
the radio station we were listing to faded out and there was nothing on. He
reached for a CD and removed a country album. I knew Dr. No occasionally
liked to listen to country but I never knew he had an album of it. Its
amazing what little there is to see in western Kansas. And you know its
bad when the most exciting thing in the area is a tree. By the time we got
to Dodge City I was pretty well tired of Merle Haggard. And if I heard one
more song I was either going to shoot Dr. No, the radio, or myself. I asked
him to change the music to anything but Merle. I should have specified no
country, because he changes it to David Alan Coe. His sixteen greatest
hits. I didnt know that he had any greatest hits. Hell up to this point I
    never heard of him

I asked why we were listing to this and Dr. No had his reasons. He said it
kept him from speeding. You really cant appreciate how flat the scenery is
in the Midwest, just before you hit the Rocky Mountains. Western Kansas the
Oklahoma Panhandle and Texas, a flatter place I have never seen. For those
of you who have never been this way, unless its a big bad vampire youre
hunting, dont bother. The sights arent there.

We finally made it to Cimarron. Dr. No said he wanted to vacation out where
there was little to no supernatural influence. Seeing this place I can see
why he chose this place. First off the scenery is breathtaking. And I
think there are only like 400 people in this town. If anything supernatural
in this town pops up, people would tend to notice. We just a few moments
ago checked into the St. James Hotel. But I wasnt here for more than five
seconds than when I saw a ghost. It was a woman sitting in the window of
one of the rooms over looking over the main street. I have never before
encountered a ghost. I look forward to studying this new thing I have
    encountered.

Well, I guess thats all there is for now. If I think of anything Ill call
    you all.

    Love to you all,

    Doctor Jacqueline Hyde
