Dark Gully Tavern
found on irc.shadowfire.org under the room name #darkgully-tavern

Down in the darkness of a gully is found a Tavern. Its fairly small and plain looking. The walls are unpainted wooden planks. The roof is made mostly of rough branches with bundles of straw laid over them and weaved inbetween. Smoke comes from the single chimney ontop of the roof and dim light flickers out the open windows. There is a porch on one side of the tavern, with three chairs to each side of a door.

Once on the porch, the sounds of different voices and manners of speech can be heard. Opening the door reveals the single room which makes up the Tavern. Some small tables are placed around the center part of the room and larger tables line the walls with benches to set at.

Along the back wall is a long bar counter with stools placed infront of it. There doesnt seem to be much of a selection of drinks. Mead, ale, whiskey, water, and cider is all one would guess.

There are always a few patrons of the tavern. Walking toward the bar one would have to pass by them. A minotaur always seems to be present as is a group of dwarves huddled at one table, talking about the days labors. Theres also nearly always atleast one elf..watching silently while a human which looks to be a warrior converses with another that seems to be a mage of sorts by appearance. Then, commonly, an elemental will be lurking about somewhere in the tavern along with a sneaky looking thief who eyes all who enter for a dangling coin purse to rogue.

With a better glance nothing new is revealed. The tavern is just as dim and small as it seemed from the outside. But...things always seem to happen at the tavern first in Dark Gully. It is the hub of the land and the source to find anything needed. It welcomes whoever steps through the door and rejects just as quick those who dont pay proper respect.

It holds evil and goodness both, with one winning the day at times, and the other winning at other times.

Take your seat. Will it be against the wall or at the bar? Will you be tolerated by the Vampire and Minotaur, or will you find friendship with the elves and humans? ...There is the chance of being made a henchman by a Necromancer if you are not careful and find the thin wire of a thieve's garotte around your neck. But dont worry for now...for now drink your drink while the need for your presence builds. Soon will enter the villager who is in desperate need of your help...and then his fate will be in your hands.
