Armor Rank is the amount of armor a character has. While most wear armor such as plate mail, chain mail, or leather, some have a natural Armor Ranking from the toughness of their skin or scales.
Armor Rank ranges from 1 to 10. 1 providing the least protection and 10 the most. Each point represents how much damage the armor absorbs. If a character has an Armor Rank of 3, it means when they are delt damage by weapons or objects the first three are absorbed by the armor.
Some damage bypasses Armor Rank, such as Magical Damage and Priests Abilities. When a character gets damaged from Mages, Priests, or Shaman, the damage is the total shown on the dice, with no regards to armor the character wears.
| Armor Type | Armor Rank |
| Padded | AR:1 |
| Leather | AR:2 |
| Hide | AR:3 |
| Studded Leather | AR:4 |
| Chain Mail | AR:5 |
| Plate Mail | AR:6 |
| *Shield | AR:1 |
* Note: Shields added with armor provide +1 to the Armor Ranking of the Armor. (A shield with Leather for example would provide the character with a AR of 3.) Shields are the only type of Armor than can be used with other types.
Those characters with natural armor rankings who can still wear some types of armor add the rank of the armor onto their natural armor rank, making armor ranks cummulative.
Armor Ranks starting at 4 cause a -5% to Dodging. A 5 will cause -10% to Dodging and so on. If this causes the characters Dodge score to go below 0, the character may not make dodge attempts. Natural Armor Ranks of 4 or higher are not effected by this rule and take no penalty to Dodging.
