piano.
keyboard instrument. king of music. produce the sound simply by tappin on the black and white keys in order for the hammers to hit the strings. easiest instrument to start learning.
i started piano since i was 3 months till 4. ever since then i've been "destined" to play piano through all my life up till 2003 when i stopped for a year, then continued till now. to be honest, i nvr really had what they call "PASSION" in piano when i was little. simply because it wasnt as fun and amusing to me--it didnt interest me. my piano teacher in china was a certified piano teacher, but she was really good with kids.she would always think of ways to make piano fun. but i dunt think she suceed it. lol. anyway. so i came to canada, got another teacher. man she was funny. she didnt like my much, she was too strict with "how to place your hand properly on the piano." man she was too funny to handle. she nvr liked my style. she said i shouldnt play piano cuz i have small hand n short fingers. such lovely teacher with such strong faith in her student, no? so i stopped for a year. to find a better teacher, n just to chill abit. or w/e u put it. thats when i met the teacher that inspired me to study music, which is something i've nvr tought of b4. shes a prof at RCM n she travels to Ottawa/vancouver alot, cuz what do u expecT? shes an examiner. lol not only does she teach me the fundamental techniques of music, the style, the way of passion, she always taught me the way of life. she always said shes not there to bbsit me one step after another, she always says shes teaching me how to teach myself. i think thats abso-very-lutely true. her passion for piano is just overwhelming. shes just an old lady in a wheel chair, but to get to where she is right now, it took a lot of determination to get this far. shes my inspiration. now im plannin to study piano + become a RCM prof teachin piano + travel around performing, just like her. this is what im good at, this is what i love, so why not make the best of it?

violin.
string instrument.queen of music. it is the one of the most difficult instrument to start with simply because if its intonation. sounds are produced by the friction of the bow on the strings with proper fingering.
i started playing the violin in junior high in gr7 when we get to choose between band and strings. obviously i was better at the violin. i loved my teacher, ms hrycak, she was THE most amazing and skillful violinist i've seen so far. she was so very nice in all aspects, + pretty too. ^-^ shirley was always in my music class, n we became stand partners since then. i remember learning scales and boring fingers day after day, but afterwhile i didnt even practise. lol. but somehow i still got really good marks and did well in my classes, i think music is my one and only talent. surprisingly i became the assistant concert mistress in gr7 and concert mistress in gr 8 and 9. it was really flattering to me cuz there are few kids that actually take private lessons + some are also pretty decent. but i guess im just too special for words =)when we performed at the middle lvl festival thats w hen i first saw ms. hanley. then i came to AY + found out how nice she is ... just like ms hrycak. strings class is always fun for me. there was actually this period of time where i liked violin more than any other instruments. wow. man the vibrato on violin for a slow piece is just SO SEXY! cant resist.

guitar.
string instrument. u play it by pluckin the strings with correct fingerings, kinda like the strings instruments. comes in both electric w/amps etc, or acoustic.
guitar is just a new thing. my church band dude "octopus" plays guitar. he was self-taught for 3 years, but extremely good, to me anyway. during summer 2004, our church band practised and performed lots, and we had to arrange songs, sing, organize everything. it was tiring, but fun experience. i asked "octopus" to teach me guitar since it seemed so ez to him. so i started with the acoustic. really neat sound, i loved. he taught me some chords and by the end of the month i learned one song and was super proud. then i tried electric guitar with the amp, man was it ever too sexifying ^___^, but then he said im not good enuff. = =" so i gave a try at the bass, it was really ez cuz. duh its a bass with easy notes, was soo boring so i went back to practise the only song i know on guitar, other than my "mary had a lil lamb". the fingerings were stretched a bit, i had to struggle, but at least i can play one song *cheers*

drums.
percussion. includes bass drum, toms, snare, crash, cymbal, hihat, drumsticks. repetative beats + mixed rhythms make a piece of drumset music.
this one i also learned from my church band. this girl named annie, she learns drum so once in awhile i'd tell her to teach me few basics and i'd interpret on top of that and play around with it when its free time. i learned some diff styles of drumming, ex jazz, rock, soft rock, blues, etc. but i dont remember which is which. (silence) but she said its ok cuz drums is a percussion where u can make your own beats nad rhythms to make it suit your own taste and likes. so yes. im still good. but the snare is hard. she said snare is the hardest on its own because its complex fast beats and unbalanced accents (have you seen drumline? thats how it is). man struggles, i dont even remember a single beat. o well i tell her to teach me more this summer
duration: 1 week "tutoring"
