The way of the Jedi might be compared in a lot of ways to Tao.
A Jedi flows with the Force, moves together with it, and walks his path in accordance to the harmony of the world, wanting nothing, and placing peace instead of ego.
First a simplified generalization as a tool:
If you chain yourself to peace, than violence might disrupt your peace.
If you chain yourself to violence, than peace might disrupt your violence.
If you chain yourself to nothing, than you have Tao.
If your chains are so strong, that make you unmovable by the opposite forces, than you truly became crippled:)
IF your inner peace can be shattered by outside violence, than you had no inner peace.
You had only dependency on certain circumstances.
The example of Jedi that shall be used here is that of Luke Skywalker. He chains himself to his views on peace.
He is blinded by it, and rejects anything, that would not correlate with his ideals, refusing to use anything else.
This is why it is up to his father to kill the emperor.
He would only be a lamb to be slaughtered, accomplishing nothing, for neither the alliance, nor for his friends.
This is naturally the most selfish act of arrogance.
Luke does not care about his friends or for the alliance, only for his inner peace and ideals, regardless of the destiny of others.
But he has peace. And he has his ideals.
Seems like a straight swap of goods.
Thus the perceptive might see here connections between the ways of the light and the dark:)
One significant difference is, that a Jedi would not admit that he is a selfish hermit,
who cares only about his peace and his ideals, no matter the world cracking next to him.
If one looks at the wolf pack example of the Dark, the thought of Darksiders caring a lot more for others,
and for the world might reveal itself. And from a certain point of view, this might even be considered true.
Some might think themselves superior in their convictions, others might be superior in their practice.
A darksider should always be mindful.
Incompetence like that of Luke's example is not to be tolerated.
But naturally nor should be the incompetence of the Emperor, or Vader cherished.

A member of the Dark Order should make violence the part of his own tao, the part of his own way.
This way it becomes no hindrance, no object to be closed out, but a tool to be used, to reach RESULTS.
It is natural to strike, when there is a need to. The more one knows from violence, the more he will understand from peace.
Aggression and violence, destruction and demolition are to be practiced whenever it is felt to be natural,
and appropriate on the road that one travels.
With proficiency, convenience and skill.
Hate and anger should be used and cherished, whenever these tools are considered appropriate to be used.
But the follower of the dark path should not be chained to these traits.
These are by no means ideals to be FOLLOWED.
Students are not encouraged to become blind and ignorant tools of aggression and violence, hate and anger.
But they are advised to learn FROM and WITH these tools as much as they can, know them, to be able to USE them, instead of being used by them.
-The essence of power always kisses with commpetency, control and mindfulness.-
Walking the road of becoming true individuals who are not influenced by outside events, nor chained to the ideals of peace and violence. Following the individual way, accepting and using the tools the universe lays at your disposal to reach infinity.
Filters are useful tools to be used, but should be used wisely, and not blindly.
Thus the perceptive might notice correlations with the Shadows too:)
One big difference is that a darksider does not AIM for following two opposite directions, nor does he care about maintaining the ideal of "balance", thus he is no slave of ideals, nor is a puppet and a doll to be thrown to the left and to the right by the ridiculous and infantile ideals of good and evil, peace and violence.
He chooses to use the Dark Side of the Force for his learning. And because he does not become a slave to it, the more he progresses on the dark path, the more he will understand from the opposite too, more and more realizing that in essence, they are the same halves of the whole piece.
All three FA paths look somewhat similar, if someone grabs out a special point of view from the infinite possible ones. The point of Tao.
