An American Werewolf in London

(1981 Directed by John Landis)

The Story centers around two American backpackers that set off for a stroll on the moors, after failing to heed warnings given to them in a local spooky Inn, they are attacked by a Werewolf and one is killed while the other survives, but he soon discovers something is going to happen at the next full moon, and its not good.

I liked this movie, it was actually pretty scary, and still is the original daddy of all the hi-tech transformation scenes that followed in subsequent Werewolf movies and in my opinion has never been rivaled for originality or shear terror. It really is quite something to watch and the transformation from man to beast lasts more than a whole 5 minutes.

I loved the scary dream sequences that followed the attack, during his recuperation in the hospital. An also loved the humorous visitations he received from his dead friend warning him of the impending terror.

Great cast performances by David Naughton and Jenny Agutter rounded off what I would say is one of the Greatest Horror movies of the 80's and certainly the best 80's Werewolf genre Movie made.

My Rating: 8
