My PICMicro story, How did I started?... ><
To make the long story short....

I decided to go look for something different to do after all those boring
DoTA and Dawn of War games I've had with my friends. Then, I stumbled across this little gizmo called PIC. First, I started by reading the datasheet for PIC16F84. The more I read the more I got pulled into it. After that, I began searching in the Internet for some PIC beginner's projects, which many can be found in PicList. Then I decided to buy myself some PICMicros and a programmer for the PIC. I went to shop for my PICs, crystals, and various components from Jameco while I purchased my first USB based PIC Programmer which can be found in KitsRUs. My first few programmes like any done by that of beginners, were making LEDs blink...blink...and blink.... well, I have to admit everyone ought to start as a NOOB before actually becoming an expert :S. I basically copied their code, compiled it and flash it onto my first PIC16F84. After getting it to work, I modified the programme to my liking. For instance, making a Knight Rider LED display, making LED blink randomly and .... well, too many to mention, but that was a good way to learn to make use of the PICMicro instruction sets :). CHEAPIC at Piclist is a perfect place to look for more beginner's projects. A quote from an anonymous seasoned PIC Programmer,

"Whatever you can find out there, you can build a better version of it with a PIC."
