A hammer
Sprigs of garlic and
garlic flowers
Wild roses
The Host
Holy water
A crowbar
An axe and/or a big
knife
Candles and/or a lamp
A crucifix
The vampire will only
sleep on sacred ground form her home. Either travel to her homeland or find the
means the vampire is using for survival (e.g. boxes of earth) and stamp it out.
Sterilize the boxes of earth with holy water and prayer.
Place wild rose on the
coffin lid to trap the vampire in the coffin until the rose is removed. Place
the Host outside the door to the tomb or cemetery gates to seal the vampire in
there until the moment is right.
It would be madness to
tackle a vampire at midnight, so wait until day and use the time to gather the
tools and necessary information.
Break into the tomb
and prepare for the killing
Break the lock that
guards the tomb with the axe and go in. Open the coffin lid forcefully (some
are nailed shut). Leave the door open and allow light in. Light candles and
preferably a lamp too for light to work. Most tombs are dark, dreary places
where light does not go. The vampire may attack in the dark. In case of an
attack have a crucifix on hand.
Place the stake
directly over the heart. Make sure there is nothing preventing a clear strike
(e.g. Ribs, stiff clothing). Position the hammer over the stake. Calm yourself.
Raise the hammer directly over the stake for accuracy and hit the stake as hard
as you can.
Ignore the vampire’s
screams and convulsions. Continue to strike until the stake is buried deep and
the vampire stops moving. Do not remove the stake. Raise the axe and cut off
the head with one blow. Immediately open the mouth and stuff it with garlic
flowers. Scatter garlic in the coffin itself. Close the coffin lid, nail it
shut and place wild rose on the lid. For extra safety lock the tomb gates once
more and sprinkle the powdered Host on the ground outside the gate. Leave the
place. The task is finished.
