Be Careful What You Ask For (5/?) ******************************** by Stephni Sept 5, 2000 ************************************************** Previously Posted: Sherri's eyes fell upon Nick's countenance, and became fixed there. He was handsome, she thought to herself. And He seemed so gentle and sweet. She mentally assured herself that this was just a vampiric ploy used to trap their prey. ************************************************** It was empty of any entity other than herself. Had she been imagining what she thought had just transpired? Sherri bolted for the door of the library, with the soft, sultry words of the vampire echoing in her mind........ ************************************************** Now on with the story: Danu continued to walk around the castle as he STILL couldn't find Daygold or her tea party. He had stopped and talked to several ghosts who had given him a privet tour of the place. Suddenly an old bespecticaled ghost showed up wringing his hands. He clothing dated from the late 18th to the early 19th centuries by Danu's estimation. "Excuse me sir, are you the Geas'son that the battlement walker has spoken about?" Danu looked quizzically at the ghost before him. "Yes. I stopped with him right after I arrived here. May I ask why you ask?" The poor ghost shuffled abit and wrung his hands harder. "I work in the library sir. I...I...I was talking to Master Lacroix about some of the old tombs held there, when the castle's resident Vampire Antagonist came in crying. I was about to find out what had happened, when Master Lacroix went to her and started to confuse and mesmerize the poor young lady. I felt it necessary to actually leave my post and find help. I first went to the battlements and was told to come here for you." 'Damn Lacroix.' Danu thought to himself. "Show me." ************************************************** Danu walked around the corner and spotted Sherri, leaning against the wall. Her head, shaking back and forth and braced against her hand. He walked over to her and tapped on her other hand. "Excuse me miss, could you please tell me where I could find Daygold, she asked that I come and particapate in her tea party...well demanded actually." Sherri looked down at him, her eyes glassy. She blinked several times as though trying to focus. "Are you all right?" She continued to blink, then looked up and to her left. Danu followed her gaze to find Lacroix glaring at him. Danu gently squeezed her hand and then calmly walked over to his nemesis. He stopped a few feet from Lacoix and scolded to him in latin. "You betray your guest privlages Lucien." "You are not the owner, nor do you reside here. And while you were invited here by a resident, it was not the owner. Ergo, you have no power here." Lacroix sneered. "I had even less power when I was forced to preform at Calen's party for the Emperor either. However if you wish, I could always call challenge to you." Danu replied. "YOU have no cause." Lacroix held his hand out to Sherri. "Come to me little one." Sherri seemed to shake herself as she fought off Lacroix's power. "I don't think your so called Elder's would agree with you Lucien. Therefore, If you do not immeadiatly release her, I WILL officially challenge you. Your decision Lucien." "Bah! She is not worth fighting over. If you wish her so much then so be it." He turned and walked away a scowl on his features." ************************************************** Danu turned and walked back to Sherri, who had slid down the wall as she recovered from the triple mental assult that she had received that day. "Easy, you are ok now." Sherri looked at him for a moment then pushed his hands away and started to get up. "Who the f**k are you!" She yelled. Her anger clearly visible. "My name is Danu Geas'son. Although here, if I remember correctly, I am considered to be Stephni's alter-ego. I am also a friend to Cynthni and HER alter-ego, Daygold. In fact Daygold is the reason I'm here at the castle, if truth be known." he smiled at her. "Now come. If I understand correctly, there is a party for you somewhere." Sherri looked down at her diminutive companion, hesitated a moment then nodded. ************************************************** As they walked down yet another hallway, Danu promised to give her a recipe for a potion which should help her truly resist the resident vampires. As they entered the room where the party was REALLY being held, he stopped her. "A favor if you please." "Depends on what it is." "Next time Lacroix attempts to 'whammy' you, look at him and say 'Yes Musterd everytime he tries to order you around. Drives him nuts." Smiling at the thought, they both both joined the party. ************************************************
