"Learn to draw anime!" the title said...

Okay, that's it, I can't take it anymore.  Lord knows I have tried to keep it to myself, but I just can't anymore.  This topic needs to be addressed, and I might as well be the one to do it.  What, you ask, is this thing of which I am ranting about?  Well, lemme tell ya.
As an ever-learning anime artist, I sometimes like to check out "learn to draw" sites on the web.  And yes, many of them have been helpful in their own little way.  But let me tell you, there are others.  Others whose description says one thing, but the actual site leaves much to be desired.  Others who promise features on hair, clothes, and figure drawing, only to leave me...unfulfilled, shall we say.  Others who make all kinds of promises to get the average Joe Schmo like me to visit.
Empty Promises.
Well, I won't take it anymore.  Or maybe I will.  Y'know, I can't make them take down their pages... Oh, you know what I mean!!
AAAnyway, I get sucked into these flashy advertisements and get dumped off at a halfway decent looking site.  Wonderful.  I go check out their personal gallery with original artwork.  Well, already we've hit a snag.  "Dude, the art in this gallery sucks!" I say to myself.  Who in their right mind would take lessons from this person?  So, I go check out their tutorial, just to see what's offered.  The basic eyes, nose, and mouths.  But what have we here??  A lesson for drawing faces.  This ought to be interesting.  First, it tells me to start off with geometric shapes.  Fine.  Then I see the illustration.  Y'know, it helps if the lines in the illustration are straight to begin with!  Jeeze.  So I continue on down the page and see that the nose is freakin' huge, and the lips are more "western cartoon" then "eastern anime".  *sigh*  It's all I can do at this point not to e-mail the designer and laugh in their face.  But I decide to be civil about it.  Then, I reach the bottom of the page.  Surrounded in stars is the message: "I am just a beginner myself, so please do not take my advice as the final word in drawing."
Okay, I have two things to say to this statement.  1) Thanks, Captain Obvious.  If you hadn't told me, I never woulda guessed...  And 2) Why, in God's name, did you post this "learn to draw" site if you yourself are just beginning??!  Did you actually expect us to take your advice after seeing your work??!
Perhaps you're tinking that I'm being rather harsh.  Sorry.  I just don't understand where some people get the idea to teach others how to draw when they have no freakin' experience in the first place.
And now, here is my little disclaimer:
*I am by no means, a great artist.  You want great work, go look at stuff by Shirow.  However, I do have a sense of aesthetics, and I know that some stuff just plain sucks.  If you happen to have a site like the one described above, please take it down.  There is a reason you're getting all that hatemail...*
