Tony was the inspriation for most of Tragic Kingdom. Gwen would write songs about him, sad, mad or even some happy songs, then call him up and read the lyrics to him to see it he liked them. This was Gwen's way of paying him back for the break up, but you have to remeber "he deserved it" (Gwen Stefani, Storytellers 2001) and people need not sympathise with him for the torture!
