Season Two

Episode: "Write Where It Hurts"
Air Date: Monday August 3rd
Summary: Daria is given an assignment to write a fictional story about moral dimention using people she knows as fictional characters. She goes to Jane's and procures a few ideas. Her first idea is Kevin and Brittany's wedding where DiMartino is the minister and Jane miraculously shows up and Kevin runs away with her. She trashes this idea. Her next idea is Quinn, Daria, Trent, and Jesse in an English 1800s Pride and Prejudice thing. Joey, Jeffy, and Jamie [Quinn's suitors] arrive on horses along with Trent and Jesse in traditional garb and their lingo is really annoying. Idea trashed. Another idea is her parents kicking back and getting on Quinn's case for being popular. Quinn breaks out in tears because she can't be more like Daria. A 8 lane highway in front of their house comes up in this story. This is Daria's idea of ideal parents. Idea trashed. Next comes Jake, Helen in a medieval, Macbeth, witch style sequence. Jake prances in on his horse and seeks help from Helen the witch and vice versa. Idea trashed. She seeks Mr. O'Neill for help and he suggests adding a game of cards to the story. She writes the same medieval story except she replaces the characters with Jodie and Mac. Idea trashed. Daria seeks maternal help and her mother tells Daria to write about what she truly believes in because she isn't very good in expressing her beliefs. She writes another futuristic story of her and Quinn grown up and visitng the elderly Helen and Jake. Jake had a triple bypass, Daria now writes a weekly colum and teaches, and Quinn marries Jamie and has 4 kids. They decide to play a family game of cards [i.e. O'Neil's idea]. Thus ends Daria's story, resulting in Helen crying. Daria is confused. End episode.

Episode: "Pierce Me"
Air Date: Monday July 28th
Jane's birthday is coming up and Trent calls upon Daria's help with the birthday present. Trent calls during dinner one night, which astonishes the Morgendorffers, considering the fact that Quinn is the only one that regularly gets calls from boys. Trent, after many failed attempts, asks for Daria's help in picking out Jane's present. He doesn't want to get her art supplies, which ironically is what she really needs. Daria and Trent go to a piercing/tatoo shop. There is a 2 for one piercing special, and Daria, due to Trent's presence, gets her navel pierced. She doesn't even realize what she did until later. Meanwhile, Helen and Quinn enter themselves in the Mother Daughter Fashion Show, only because Stacy and Stacy's mother entered. Daria continues to have trouble with her navel ring and shocks Jane and Jody. Daria takes out her ring one night due to the continuous itching and the hole closes up. Daria already showed Quinn the ring, so Quinn looks foolish when she squeals to her parents. Back at the fashion show, Quinn and Helen fall on their faces in front of everyone. Trent and his band perform a song for Jane at one of their gigs, and Jane and Daria attend where Jane thanks Daria promptly for "her art supplies".

Episode: "See Jane Run"
Air Date: Monday July 21st
Summary: Refusing to participate in cheerleading exercises in "PE", Jane and Daria sit out on P.E. and get detention. Upon returning home late, Jake assumes that Daria met a guy, due to her sarcasm on her late returning, this pops up more in the episode. Meanwhile, Jane sets her sights on the new guy at school, Evan. Jane decides to join the track team inspite of Evan, which kind of annoys Daria. While Jane is at practice, Daria hangs by herself and talks to herself around the house which freaks out her mother. Helen bribes Quinn with her credit card to hang around with Daria inspite of the fact that she is alone too much. Meanwhile, Jane becomes a track jock and gets to skip the math midterm which really annoys Daria resulting in some not-so heartening jokes infront of Evan. Jane and Daria go their seperate ways. Realizing she's not into the whole jock-thing, Jane quits the track team and blows off Evan due to the fact that he called her and Daria "losers". Meanwhile back at P.E. class, Daria and Jane become friends again and are forced to do "pom-poms" in PE class, meanwhile Brittany falls over again in her failed attempt to do splits..anyways..that's that episode.

This episode evovles around Jody and Daria's visit to a prestigious, snobby prep school called Grove Hills. Jody and Daria are insulted by the snobby students and Jody releases her anger and gets herself permanently exiled from the school. Daria could care less about the school as a whole. Meanwhile, Quinn, who is afraid of stay home alone, jumps from friends' house to friends' house, where she is kicked out every time. This episode featured Daria and Jane in their directoral debut of a documentary on shallowness starring Quinn. Quinn comes across as a saint, leaving her a star at school, and Daria and Jane just the same. This was one of my favs.
