City of style, city of energy, city of art, New York has delighted us on several occassions, beginning with our first train trip together in January of 1991, when Dar crossed the Brooklyn Bridge in a war protest, and we took the photos of each other on this page. In the fall of 1993, we returned to visit Tim and Lisa. We attended the 1995 U.S. Open Tennis tournament, saw the original production of Angels In America, and languished several times over the art of the Apple's overwhelming museums, including our favorite sacred art space, the Frick. We saw Botero's plump and sensuous scuptures and experienced the Columbus Day parade with Joce. We shopped with Starr and Bruce in SOHO and had meals with sister Lisa, who lived in the West Village (she now lives in Singapore). We dined at such chic places as Jerry's and such ethnic establishments as Kiev and Mitali in the East Village. We mixed with the crowds of Wigstock.
Over Christmas, 2000, we stayed at the Empire Hotel Across from Lincoln Center. Along with Pamela, we dined on the upper Westside and took in such plays as Copenhagen and Cabaret. We also visited MOMA where friend Kara Walker's banner graced the entrance.

After the horror of 9-11, Dar showed his support for the Big Apple by flying up to see Helen Mirren and Ian McKellan on Broadway.

In October, 2003 we flew up to see three great plays: Wicked, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Take Me Out. We also heard and later enjoyed the company of Jamie Cullum, who performed at the Oak Room in our hotel, The Algonquin. After the performance, he invited us to join him for beer, talk, and music at Jimmy's Corner. Finally, we saw the awe-inspiring El Greco show at the Met after a stroll though Central Park
