| The concert, overall, was a let down for M. Hammond, J. Groover, M. Moody, and myself. On our voyage there, we were expecting much more than what Les gave us. "Too Many Puppies, My Name Is Mud, To Defy The Laws Of Tradition, Laquer Head, DMV, etc, etc....." were some of the titles we were eagerly discussing to hear.... When we arrived we all went and bought ourselves a Primus shirt. Afterwards, we headed on down to our seats, where Matt, Matt, Jacob, and myself would be stationed for the duration of the concert. There were two big balls that hung from the ceiling over the stage, which had video clips of the goofiest things. After a while of waiting, Primus finally got on stage. Me, Hammond, Jacob, and Matt eagerly perked our ears up to hear the opening song which was!....Nature Boy........We thought to ourselves "hm...Nature Boy...not bad". Then it was time for the next song.....which happened to be The Toys Go Winding Down...We thought to ourselves "ok, the next one has to be a good one". Well....turns out we found ourselves listening to My Friend Fats, then Over The Electric Grapevine, and then had ourselves excited for the next song which happened to be none other than.....Bob. At this point we were getting worried of not hearing anything we wanted to hear. It continued with The Carpenter And The Dainty Bride, Frizzle Fry (possibly one of the best they played), and then onto the whole Sailing The Seas of Cheese album, which I personally enjoyed. We atleast got to hear Sgt. Baker, Jerry Was A Racecar Driver, Is It Luck?, and Tommy The Cat. After they finished up with that, they had an encore. During this, we were guessing what they'd close with. We thought for sure they'd play My Name is Mud. Instead, they played Pudding Time, and about 2 minutes of a Rush cover. Well, even though I barely heard anything I wanted to hear, I can still say I had a good time. I think the rest of the crew would say the same thing. We got to see what a Primus fan looks like, who were mainly normal lookin people. All and all, it wasn't a bad night. The smell of weed, sound of Les' bass, and sight of goofy shit made it like no other concert. It was ok. |
