Winter Moon (a poem by josie)
The moon whispered
One dark winter's night,
Among the crackling leaves
And bright starlight.
So sad it's words
Drifting in the winter's breeze.
That the willow wept
Along with the other trees,
All fell frozen and silent and still,
As the thought traveled in kind
Invading their hearts,
Lodging in their minds.
Repeating the lament of its lunar tune,
All understood the singleness
Of this preeminent moon.
It sighed three words only,
For the moon whispered
"I am lonely..."
