Aarcane here... Glad to hear your getting something useful outta my site. I hope I can answer your questions in a way you can find useful as well. 8-} 1. What is the "Stall Turn" and how do I do it? Answer: You can stall your plane in any direction you want by using your throttle to slow down enuff so that gravity alone pulls your plane back down . Anyone can stall there plane, the trick is to be certain that you'll fall with your target dead center in a direction that you have placed him/her in advance (directly below you)... remember this before you try it in the game rooms. To try this stunt to see how it works, fly and choose a stationary trgt at first... fly straight and normal above it and when your directly above... pull back and climb (straight up) for about 5 seconds(switch to outside view if you like but switch back to crosshiar only view before rolling over). Then while still climing, power back and watch the speed indacater fall. At some point the plane will nose over(a twitch at just the right time will let you choose wich way) and you will fall nose first down the same path your were just on. Correct to see the target and shoot. Pay atention to what speed this happens as different planes have alittle different stallspeeds. On your way back down you'll need to power back up. Unless your real close to the ground or have allready passed your trgt on the way up, there is no hurry... (the more time you see the trgt in front of you the less behind you he'll be...LOL) While in a horozontal turn, you'll see that the slower your going the tighter your turn will be.. use a stall to roll over into the turn and drop out the bottom and cut 1/6 or more off the distance your turn takes up...(you can do this til you get too low to perform without hitting the ground as it is most unforgiving) another tatic that uses a similar move is a bounce off of somthing like a mountain top or building. To do this you must be almost undammaged. You must not hit anything at a right angle, but as to slide along it for an instant... you'll get a bounce that'll help you turn back alittle harder. This move only works 1 time before the ground takes it's toll most times. 2. What "view" do you find most helpful while dogfighting?Answer:I use the "crosshair only" veiw 90% of the time... 3.0 How do I find out where my enemy is hitting me from?Answer:Make sure spyglass is enabled. Spyglass will show you a image of what ever trgt your locked on to... cycle trgts(fast) til you see one that looks like its flying right at you and fills the glass..*he's the one shootin you*! Use the snap look key to see him even better. In games with lots of trgts it helps to have a previous trgt button on your joystick as well... 3.1 How do I keep track of who might bear down on me? Answer:"Cycle trgts constantly" and "Use the snap look key" (K). It works good in all views but can be hardest to use in your best shooting view...(crosshair only). I programed it onto my joystick(Button7="K") were I don't hit it by accadent. To use this view, press 1 time to snap your head to see the trgt your locked on to and then again to resume your view. If you've just respawned or have time between kills, you can press it 1 time and then cycle trgts to see exactly were everyone is in relation to your plane before selecting a trgt.(making sure theres no obstacles in your way and your path doesn't need you to manuver soon) *don't try to manuver/dogfight while in snaplook with crosshairs only view til you get real good at it* The most confusing view is crosshairs only when using the snaplook. Any more questions, you know were to find me. And with that, I'll leave you with these thoughts: 1-Know your enemy. Fly with people with your level of experience and avoid games that have people in them you know will smear ya bad(til you get better)and if theres more that 2 squad members from the same team in with you... expect the worst! Also helps to identify/use the different airframes strengths and weaknesses. 2.Cycle trgts til you find the best 1 and stay on him "TIL HE IS DEAD"!!! 3.Use the rearm like a church that you worship!!! Drag them to it and stay close by... even incorporate it into your path that you were on while chasing some one... even if you don't need it... go threw it to close the door for some one that does...then finish him off!!! (the rearm can be found at a glance by pushing (R) *manhattan has one thats allwayz open, and above the clouds has none at all lol* 4.Use the ground objects to put something between you and your attacker until your nitro runs out and you turn for a second, *finishing* pass. 5.Another way to put the last cabash on a target is to ram him if he's almost dead... (or if your almost dead yourself.. most times, its the ram-ee and not the ram'er that dies) 6.don't use nitro unless your making a break to escape... speed makes your turn larger/looser and will bring you out in front of your trgt if you stay in the turn with him. 7.Use your controlls "effectivly" like the "views/snaplook/trgt cycle/throttle/and tab" buttons... 8.With guns, lead the trgt more and more til you see the trgt "flash" with hits... then use a sweeping motion(less lead/more lead) to riddle him good! 9. Know that the most important thing is to, "not die" That means "if your shooting some one and start taking hits from behind", BREAK OFF AND EVADE!!! The kill is less important than staying alive... 10. If your trying to shoot someone for more than 8 or 9 seconds and cannot seem to gain position on them, CHANGE TARGETS, cuz ... they know your there and are more concerned with escaping you... remember, "Supprize Attacks=easy kills" 11. Use Tab allot! find out who needs killing the most. If the others do the same then most will be trying to kill him, (one's with higher scores) rather than you. 12. Don't get "Target Fixation" ...allwayz cycle to find the BEST trgt. 13.Be leary when you first respawn! Some one allwayz respawns right on your 6 ...ALLWAYZ 14.If you break from the Death Spiral, "you become the hunted and not the hunter" the spiral is the only thing keeping you outta his sights! 15. When diving down into the furball, attacking from above or even head on... throttle back some and use the extra time to get off another shot or two... this will also set you up for your initial stall manuver.. remember the stall works with gravaty so roll over and stall down, not up in head to head. 16. Allwayz try to use the extra speed from gravaty to turn arround... doing an inside loop is slow and will put you at his mercy most times... inside loops are best use at very low alt when there least expected and in conjuntion with a stall turn at the top. 17. If you know theres some one back there , continue on your tight turn and put in a kaotic/random, wable to take allot less hits and still stay on your trgt for a few extra seconds. 18. Learn to break away hard from your turns in "unconventonal directions". 19. Learn to turn any airplane arround inside of the zephangers at Boeing Field. (using stall turns) 20. If some one is very, very close to your 6, then power down and wiggle all over til he passes you and drop in on him like flies on sh*t. He won't have time to avoid being your trgt, but just remember that he's gunna be hard off the gas too untill he realizes his mistake... so don't gas 'er up too fast when your behind him. Wait for him to hit his nitro, cuz if he has it, he will use it at that time! Also, don't let this technique work on you... be allert "The world needs more Learts" 21.There "IS" a rearm in Zep vs Zep games... press "R" to see it. ***AARCANEWIZARD***
