Daily Dose of Stupidity #587,980.6
Do any of you have a hotmail address?  Well, as much as I think that Hotmail
is the Bill Gates of free internet e-mail, I do have an address that I got
before I discovered the wonders of netaddress.com last year.  I went onto my
hotmail address today to check (and delete) all of the stupid junk e-mail
that I knew I would have on there.

So, what did I find when I logged on?

About 100 messages.  Now that's not too bad.  I was expecting more,
actually.  But do you know what really made me mad?  That fact that half of
them were telling me to go to some porn site.

Do you guys know what I'm talking about?  Those messages that these people
try to cleverly disguise with subjects like "I missed you while you were
away!"  and "Listen...I have to tell you something!"  I mean, come on.  How
much more lame than that can you get?  Talk about spam, trying to get people
to check out your porn sites by convincing them that this is an important
message and they really miss you?  Right.

And, do you notice how you can tell instantly that these are going to be porn
sites because these people never have negotiable e-mail addresses.  They're
always something like "[email protected]" or "[email protected]".  Is
it just me or are these totally unimaginable e-mail addresses?  I mean, come
on, if you're gonna send porn sites to people, at least make up a convincing
e-mail address or a subject that has some thought put into it.

But, as stupid as these are, Sara and I find them rather amusing.  She's got
hotmail, so every time she checks hers, she has to read these stupid subject
lines to me and attempt to pronounce the e-mail addresses.  It's rather
amusing to be sitting watching TV or doing your homework (cuz, mom, if you're
reading this, I am usually doing my homework) and all of a sudden Sara calls
out, "Seen Britney Spears lately?" or "This is really important..." and,
pronounce "klthpnmelknjry" for me.

So, next time you check your hotmail and find these stupid porn sites in your
inbox, laugh at how stupidly they try to catch your attention.

And, if any of you know of a petition or something that we can all sign to
get porn off the net, then tell me.  I mean, not only will it help keep this
stuff inaccesable, but it will keep the number of stupid e-mails that I
receive down to a bare minimum.
