A Little About Us

Darag Scotties was started in 1986 with the purchase of Quercus up to Mischief .  For those of you who want to know what in the world is Darag.  It is a gaelic word for "oak".  Since my husband is full blooded Irish we tend to choose Gaelic names.  We were new to the show ring and the start was rocky. Mischief was not the grand showman we we're looking for, but she proved her worth in the whelping box, producing four champions out of her litter of seven.  Mischief produced a total of five puppies that completed their championships.
Our first home bred was Ch Darag Eat my Dust, her name was Megan. She finished from the bred-by class and completed her title with ease. After her championship Megan headed south to South America that is, where she is also a Columbian and International Champion.
Since then we have had many champions.  We are now showing Darag Black Top "Winston".  He only needs six single points to gain his championship. When he is finished he will be the 8th champion for his
father, Deblins Top Talk. Winston is a descendent of the infamous "Deblins Back Talk", "Tony".  He is his grandson with two thirds of his pedigree being Tony his grandfather.  We are using Winston as Stud at the present time with his first litter due on the ground in a few short weeks. We also have our dear "Beanie" whom we are showing,  She is our first brindle scottie and she is such a joy to have.  We thank Tom Natalini dearly for letting us have her.
We have since added JRT's to our kennel of dogs, all due to the generousity of our dear friends Helen Eitel and Micki Cross of Chillybleake Labradors.  They gave us our first Jack Russell, Jazz, whom we love dearly and since New Years Eve 1999, They have given our daughter, Heather her first Jack Russell, Daisy.
We are planning in late summer to breed our first litter of Jack Russells.  We shall keep you posted on the outcome.  The possibility of Norfolk's might be in the future for us.  But For now we are content to groom them for our vet.
