Part Two

As I was drinking the tea, I heard a beeping, and looked towards my bookbag, which was on the floor.
        "What's that?" asked Michealangelo.
"My beeper." I said as I reached for my bag. I looked at it, and saw in big, bold capitals, "ANDREA COME HOME NOW". I knew it was my dad. He probably knew I was out by free choice since no one kidnapped ever took their bookbag, beeper, and only portable juice container in the house with them.
"It's my dad, and I'm dead." I said.
"Your father must be very worried." said Splinter.
"He yells at me over a beeper. Yeah, real worried." I said sarcastically. I noticed that the others became kind of tense after I said that, as if I was really disrespectful or something. But Splinter didn't seem to care.
"Sometimes, when one is worried, they get very angry that their child has made them worry." said Splinter.
It made perfect sense, and the others were at ease now. I guess I didn't realize that respect to Splinter was top priority around here.
I stood up and stretched, my left arm still hurting.
"I really gotta go." I said.
"But you're still sore." said Venus. How she knew that, I really don't know.
"But my dad is worried, I really have to go. I appreciate y'all helpin' me, really I do. But I gotta go." I said.
"What are you gonna tell your dad?" asked Leonardo.
"That I got chased by a gang and . . ." I looked at them all. Their eyes were pleading with me not to tell about them.
"And that I hid in an alleyway for a really long time." I finished.
For the first time since I was there, Raphael kind of smiled at me. "Good answer." he said.
I smiled back, then looked around. "So, how do I get outta this place?" I asked.
"Well, if you really gotta go. Come on, we'll take you to a manhole right below your street." said Leonardo.
        "Cool." I said.
So they all began leading me to this one manhole. It was dark, smelly, and all I could hear is them and me walking through, ugh, I don't wanna know.
I held onto one of them all the way there. I didn't know who it was, but I just held on.
We finally came to a stop, and one of them opened the manhole. Light streamed in, and it turns out that I'd been holding onto Raphael the whole time.
"Sorry about that." I said as I let go of him.
"That was you? I thought it was Mikey, he's always afraid of the dark." said Raphael.
"He was holding onto me." said Venus, a slightly irritated expression on her face.
         "Figures." said Raphael.
"Well, here ya go kid." said Donatello as he helped lift me out of the sewers.
I stood up top, and looked back down at them. "Thanks again." I said.
         "No problem. Just remember, you
never saw us." said Donatello.
"Gotcha." I said with a wink.
They smiled, then closed the manhole again, and I left.
As I walked up to the apartment, I wondered if I'd ever run into those guys again, and then I wished that I
would run into them again. Because except for the gang and the fall, this day had been the coolest ever.
I opened my apartment door, and saw my dad biting his nails while pacing in the room.
"Hey dad." I said as I walked in and closed the door behind me.
He looked up, and got a real surprised look on his face.
"Andrea! Dang girl! I've been worried
sick about you! What happened?" he asked.
I dropped my bag on the living room floor. "I was walkin' around town today, and the wrong crowd spotted me, so I jetted. I had to hide out in this alley 'til they left." I partially lied.
"You were out? And you didn't ask from earlier? What the heck is wrong with you?!" he asked me.
"Relax dad, I was fine, and I am fine. It gets kinda borin' in here when you're not home ya know. And it ain't like mom could come get me or something. Nah, she's too busy with that stupid English clock to care about me." I said, again letting the bitterness seep into my voice.
Dad was probably the only one who understood how I felt about mom. "I know hon, that's why I divorced her. Her money was more important than family." he said.
"Yeah, but we don't need her." I said.
"Nah, we're doin' just fine." he said.
"Just fine? Rats, roaches, and plumbin' issues, and we doin'
fine?" I asked.
"Get to bed Andre." said my dad as he left the room.
I just sighed, and left to go to bed.
As I laid in bed that night, I looked up at the ceiling, thinking about those Turtle dudes and their Master. It was cool, ya know, them being Ninjas and all. I wanted to see the fights they had with this Dragon Lord dude or whatever. I knew New York wasn't normal, but I never knew that it had it's own little mutant sect around here. It was so cool, that the only word I could think, "cool". But I just went to bed, maybe I'd meet 'em again, someday.

It was a week later, and I was relaxin' in the apartment when I heard the phone ring. So I went to pick it up. It was my dad.
"Hey Andre, glad to catch ya home." he said kinda sarcastically.
"Yeah, it's kinda late to go out. So wassup?" I asked.
"Listen, I've got some really important business to take care of, and I won't be home until real late. So there's some money in the top drawer of my desk in my room. Get yourself some pizza or somethin', ok?" he said.
"All right, can do." I said.
"Great, I'll see ya later." said my dad.
"Okay." I said, and hung up the phone.
My first chance to got out since I'd last met the Turtle dudes, cool. So I got my sneakers on, grabbed some dough, and went to the pizza place down the street.
Inside weer 2 huge guys in trenchcoats that actually brushed past the floor. They also wore black hats (I call them Dick Tracy hats) that they pulled down to cover their face. They were standing at the side waiting for a pizza, I guess. So I just went to order.
"All right, whaddaya want?" asked the guy at the desk. Hey, it's New York, what do you expect, manners?
"One large pepperoni pizza, with extra cheese." I said. I loved my pizzas cheesy and spicy.
"All right, that's it?" he asked.
"And a soda, but that's it." I said.
"$9.50." he said, so I paid the guy, and he went to help make pizza with the other guys in the back.
I went to the fridge of the place, and got a soda. Then I passed by the two large dudes who were talking with each other.
"How long does it take them to make a pizza? I'm starving!" complained one of them. His voice sounded really familiar.
"Just chill, man. You're gonna blow our cover." said one with a rougher voice.
I kinda half-smiled, and turned to face them. "Wassup." I said.
They both turned to me. Their faces were buried so much under the coat collars and Dick-Tracy-hats, that I couldn't tell if they were looking my way or not.
"Andre! What's up kid?" asked one, I could tell it was Michealangelo, he had the cutest voice of the six mutants, I thought,
"Nothin' much. How about you all? You guys dig pizza?" I asked.
"Mikey's addicted to it." said Raphael.
"Really? Cool." I said, never knowing that these guys were into pizza. I mean, who knew? (audience: We did!)
"Hey you two guys! Pizza's ready." said the guy at the desk.
Raphael and Michealangelo went to get their pies.
"Hey young lady! You too." said the guy.
So I got mine, then the three of us left the place.
"Hey Andre, since we all got pizzas, why don't you stop by for a pizza party? It'll be fun." said Michealangelo.
I tossed the idea about my head for a little while. "I don't know guys, I don't wanna be out of the house and get caught by my dad again. Even though he is comin' home late . . ."
"Come on, the others won't mind." said Raphael.
"All right, my dad won't notice anyway." I said, making sure that I'd keep an eye on my watch.
       "Great!" said Michealangelo.
I made sure not to drop my pizza or have the box accidentally open on the way there. Because after that baby was exposed, it wasn't going in
my mouth.

After we got there, Raphael and Michealangelo took off their disguises, and put them down on a table.
"Hey guys! Look who we found." said Micheal.
"Hi Andre, good to see ya!" said Leonardo.
"Thanks, it's good to see you all again too." I said, putting my pizza down on the table.
"Isn't your father going to worry about you being away from home?" asked Venus.
"Nah, he's comin' home real late tonight, that's why I went to buy a pizza, cos he told me to. So I'll just keep an eye on my watch, to make sure I get home at a good time." I said.
"Cool, so you're gonna be hangin' with the Turtle gang tonight." said Donatello.
      "Yep." I replied.
"Have you heard from your mother?" asked Splinter.
I didn't even see him come into the room. "No, I'm lucky if I ever do." I said, again with the bitterness. I didn't want to think about her right now.
