My Take On The Turtles
Leonardo: The so-called "leader" of the Ninja Turtles. He seems to be such a perfectionist and so darn loyal to the "Ninja code" at first glance. But he's really just trying to look out for everyone the best way that he can. I don't think he realizes how much he frustrates the others that way, or maybe he's just being stubborn when he sees how much it does. Either way, he tries hard to keep everyone together, and even seems to have a little extra special affection for Venus. . .
Raphael: The "wild one" in the group, as well as one of my favorites. He resents being a mutant Turtle in a human world, and feels some dislike towards the human race. Being at home isn't always too enjoyable to him either. Leo annoys him with his ways of trying to be a good leader. He isn't that fond of Venus either because she seems to be almost like Leo. Raph's world revolves around being rebellious, and going for late night rides on his motorcycle, which Splinter of course doesn't approve of. But I think that he's like a normal teenager who just can't seem to find out what he actually wants to be in life, or who he is. His frustration shows in anger, and therefore shows what happens when you don't have self control. But like I said before, I like this guy. He's the type that'll like you if he thinks you can mildly understand him.
Donatello: The techno-savvy guy. He's very smart and into biological and technological sciences. He believes what a lot of scientists believe; that science can solve anything. Venus creeps him out with her magical and spiritual beliefs, and he would really like to convince her that those things aren't real; if only he were sure himself. Donny is a thinker, not so much a fighter, though he can defend himself very well. If it were up to him, he would solve fueds with their enemies the civil way, with words. Unfortunately, that's not the way things happen. If only all the enemies went away and there was peace . . . Donny longs for the time when there is enough peace and quiet for him to concentrate on his inventions, experiments, and theories. I consider him to be a sensitive character too, and that's what I like about him.
Michealangelo: Everyone's favorite party guy! He still loves pizza just as much as ever, and even makes up his own crazy food mixtures. His vocabulary seems to revolve around jokes and punns (some of them bad). Mikey's a character who tries to make light of even the most serious situations. Anytime is a good time for a party to Mikey, and he's always up for one. As the "party dude" of the Turtles, I think he's so cute and loveable. He has a certain attitude about things that makes him seem younger than the rest of the Turtles, and no matter how nonchalant he is, he can also be serious and sensitive. What a guy!
Venus DeMilo: Her real name is Mei Pieh Chi ("beautiful Turtle of energy"), but after a certain park incident, and a statue. . . well, you know the story. She's the most serious one of all the Turtles, as she's not used to the American way of life(hm. . was that a pun?). Her mispronounciations with slang and the English language are funny, but it also makes her feel self-concious. She can be pretty sassy at times though too, as you would have to be when all of your roommates are guys! I like Venus because she's sassy, smart, funny, but yet she's sensitve and caring. She's an all around good Turtle, and good for the group to have around.
Master Splinter: The father figure of the Turtles, as well as a dedicated Ninja master. It's really hard for me to write about Splinter since he's a lot like a father figure, and I don't have a father that's around (divorced parents, what can I say?), so I can't really elaborate on Splinter. But I like this guy. I mean, no matter how old he is, he still has a sense of humor, can fight (and what 80+ person do you know can do that?), and still gives his "children" the advice they need, as well as support. I guess that what I can say is, I wish I had a father like him (minus the fur that is).
