Chapter 14 : The Journey Early the next morning at HQ (or what was left of HQ), Max was doing his finishing tweaking with the large travel ship. It only had minor damages, as it was constructed of a very strong metal, that was layered. By use of elevator belt and wrapping it around one part of the floor that was hook-like, everyone was able to get supplies down to the large travel ship, and to go back up to the 7th floor to get more. After a long time of packing and preparing, they were ready to go. They all stood down on the travel ship's level, looking at it. "Well, there it is everyone, our shp that'll take us to our world-saving duties." said Max. "It's like, huge." said Shelley. "Yeah, to fit all of us, it has to be." said Rita. Suddenly, they all felt HQ tilt to the side a bit. "Uh oh." said Donny. "Are they back?" asked Shelley, looked as if she was going to panic soon. "No, it's just that because of its damages, HQ, or what used to be HQ, is very unstable." said Max. "Um, yeah. How about we just get into the ship and take off shall we?" suggested Rita. "I couldn't of said it better myself." said Donny. "All right, everybody in." said Max. They all got into the travel ship through a rather small door. Inside, they all took a seat in the makeshift seats that Max made out of any and all chairs that he could find. Max sat at the controls of the large ship, and pressed a button that closed the door. He then began starting the engines. One of them backfired. "What was that?" asked Shelley. "Oh, one of the engines just had a little trouble getting into gear." said Max. Just then, HQ tilted some more, and pieces of the floor near them began falling onto the outside ground below. All floors below the floor they were on had been completely destroyed. "Yo Max, get this thing up, now." said Raph. "You don't have to tell me twice." said Max as he quickly set the speed. "Get ready everyone, this thing's never been flown before." "Now he tells us." said Leo. "Hold on." said Rita. The ship shook a bit, then began lifting up. Max flew it out of one of the openings created by the warrior ship's blasting. He opened the vortex, and immediately flew the ship through it. The vortex was unusually long, and had many little corners and turns in it. "Why's this vortex so weird?" asked Fay. "Going to the center dimension, we pass a lot of other dimensional portals, so it's gonna take turns, and be a bit longer than your normal journies." explained Max. "Interesting." said Venus. Off in Tirus' castle, his warriors were getting new weapons and armor in front of Tirus' throne as he observed them. "Excellent." he said as he smiled, baring his sharp canines. Just then, he looked distant. "Something isn't right." he said. "Like what?" asked Razor. Tirus opened his left hand, and revealed a glowing orange ball in there. He concentrated on it, his eyes glowing a fiery red. As he concentrated on it, a picture appeared. He saw the large travel ship that the group from HQ was in. He observed as it disappeared into a vortex. Tirus stopped concentrating on it at that point, but appeared angry. He threw the ball of energy across the room, causing a large explosion in the middle of the floor at the other side of the room. The warriors and Razor looked at the explosion, then turned back to Tirus. "Tirus, what is the matter?" asked Razor, somewhat meekly. Tirus looked at him with anger in his eyes. "I thought you said they were all dead." "They are." said Razor. "Then how come, they just flew off into a vortex? Answer me that. Is it their spirits? Can spirits fly heavy machinery?" asked Tirus, trying not to lose his calm demeanor. Razor was dumbfounded. "They are, alive?" he asked. "Yes." said Tirus with a deep growl. "I don't know how that could be." said Razor. "Well, apparently, these children are able to survive some things that their dimensional alternates weren't able to." said Tirus, leaning back in his throne. He then sat in deep thought for a moment, and sat up again. "They're going to the center dimension, I can feel it. Prepare the ships; we're leaving, right now." "Yes sir Tirus, we will board the ship, and leave now." said Razor. Tirus then got up from his throne. He towered a good six feet over the rest of his army, including Razor. His muscular legs supported him well as he stepped off the pedestal from his throne. "I am going to board my ship now. Don't keep me waiting." "Yes sir." said Razor. Tirus then walked off, feeling angry, but looking determined. |
