The Future: Part 1: Page 2 “Very good. I’d like that.” said Splinter, a smile forming over his furry face. It began getting late, and the streets of downtown New York were all filling up with the night life folk. Being Friday night, clubs were open, and people were out on dates and everything. Shane took out her cell phone and dialed Rita’s beeper number. Then she typed in the message. “Meet at Roxy Hotel.” said Shane to herself as she typed the message in. Then she closed the cell phone, and slipped it back into her pocket. “I’m stuffed.” said Mikey as he sat back in the booth. “You should be. You ate 10 slices of pizza.” said Razor. “And like, without barfing. Now that’s talent!” said Shelly. Mikey smiled, then he belched. Roxanne gave him a disgusted look. “I do hope that you say excuse me.” she said. “Pardon.” said Mikey. “Ugh. That’ll have to do.” said Roxanne, as she rolled her eyes at him, still disgusted with the loud belch. “Well guys, I think that it’s about time we head back to the van and get you all settled down.” said Shane as she stood up and stretched. “After all of that eating, I am kinda tired.” said Mikey. “All right then, up up up, let’s go. I gotta get home before my parents worry.” said Shane. Mikey stood up and stretched, his stomach partially sticking out from all of the pizza. He never had the opportunity to eat so much pizza at one time, and so he decided to stuff himself like he’s never stuffed himself before. Raphael then stood up. He hadn’t eaten that much, but he was still tired. “So, you guys chill here all night or what?” asked Raphael. “Nah, I’m headin home now. Come on Corina, I’ll drop you off home.” said Razor, getting up from the table. “No way, I’m not ridin’ in that crumby thing you call a car.” said Corina. “Come on now. It’s just like our family car back when we were little. Don’t tell me you hated that car too.” said Razor. “Of course I didn’t. I was 8, what did I care about cars?” said Corina. “Wait, you two are related?” asked Mikey. “Yeah, that idiot right there is my brother.” said Corina. “Cool.” said Mikey. “Not if you lived with him all your life. He sucks.” said Corina. “You’re just mad cos your dirtbike got impounded. Hah! Serves you and your little attitude right.” said Razor. Corina gave him the evil eye for a moment, then turned away, still sitting at the table. Everyone else had gotten up by now, so Corina decided that she might as well too. “I might as well hail a cabby and go home.” said Corina as she began leaving. “What’s your problem Cori? Don’t you know that the Wild Child’s van always has room for a friend?” said Shane. Corina smiled. “I know, but see, you got these two to take to the hotel. Plus them other two that went to the Chinese place next door.” she said. “So, we can always put anybody extra in Roxanne’s jeep. Right Roxanne?” asked Shane. “Yeah, all right, I’ll be part of the bus trip to the hotel.” said Roxanne. “So you can go and get lost.” said Corina to Razor. “Yeah whatever, brat. I’m out. Bye everyone.” said Razor. “Bye.” said everyone. Then Razor left out the side door. “All right guys, I’m out. I gotta like, go home and stuff. Bye!” said Shelly. “See ya later Shelly.” said Shane. Then Shelly went out the same door Razor did. “Come on.” said Shane, and they went out the front door of the pizza place. “Hey Raph, catch!” said Shane, and she tossed the keys to Raphael once they got outside. “What are you givin me these for?” asked Raphael. “To start the van while I go get your friends from the restaurant.” said Shane. “Oh, ok.” he said to Shane. “Sweet.” he said to himself. Shane walked into the restaurant, and found Splinter and the lady mice sitting at the booth, calmed down in their conversation, and just being mostly quiet. “Hey everyone.” said Shane as she came up to them. “Oh my, it’s that rambunctious child!” said the brown mouse. “Relax ladies, I’m not here to destroy your peace factor. Listen, I just came to take your friend here to the Roxy Hotel so he can get settled in.” said Shane. “Oh, the Roxy. That’s a very nice hotel. Excellent pudding.” said the black mouse. “Yeah, and everyone’s waiting, so we gotta vamoose.” said Shane. “Are you going to play that, music, again?” asked Splinter. “Well, yeah. But you can ride in my friend, Roxanne’s jeep instead if you want. She doesn’t play much more than jazz in the evenings. It’s her mood thing.” said Shane. “That would be just fine.” said Splinter. Then he got up. “It was lovely talking to you ladies. I hope to see you all again soon.” said Splinter. “Tomorrow as a matter of fact. We’ll look you up at the Roxy.” said the white mouse. “All right.” said Splinter, then he began walking away with Shane. “What’s this tomorrow morning thing all about?” asked Shane. “A decision that I’ve made. But I will tell of my decision later.” said Splinter. “Okay, if you say so.” said Shane. Just then, Leonardo and Venus came up to them. “Hey you two, I was just going to look for you.” said Shane. “I did not know that you two had come in.” said Splinter. “Well, we didn’t want to bother you.” said Venus. “You looked like you were having a great time chatting with the mouse ladies.” said Leonardo with a smile. Splinter smiled kind of bashfully. “They are very nice.” he said. “Well, now that we’re all here, let’s go.” said Shane, and she began walking out with the three. “What have you two been talking about?” asked Splinter. Leo and Venus glanced at each other. “Well Master, just like you once told me, some things are better left, unsaid.” said Leonardo. “I would agree.” said Venus. Splinter just chuckled to himself. He didn’t have the foggiest idea of what they were talking about, but he thought that they looked so cute together. “Are you sure we can’t share a room?” asked Leo as he held Venus’ hand and leaned closer to her. Venus giggled. “I’m very sure. I know that you’re going to be a bad boy.” she said. “I know that too. But still.” said Leo, in a voice that both had a joking tone, and a pleading one. “You stop that.” Venus said playfully. At CompUSA, Rita was in a dark room lit with a red light bulb, fixing a computer part that would be damaged by any type of bright light. Donatello stood outside the room with her beeper that had the message “Meet at Roxy Hotel” flashing across it. “Hey Rita.” said Donatello. She didn’t hear him, and therefore, didn’t answer. Donatello softly knocked on the door. “Rita?” he said. “Yeah?” said Rita. “Your beeper’s got a message on it.” said Donatello. “What’s it say?” asked Rita. “Meet at Roxy Hotel.” said Donatello. “Oh, that must be from Shane. I’ll be out soon.” said Rita. “Okay.” said Donatello. Rita soon came out of the room with the computer part wrapped in a foil-like paper so that no light would come through. “All right, that’s the last of them. I sometimes wonder what these people do to their computers, or forget to do, for them to break so much.” said Rita. “Eh, they don’t know about computers like they should I guess. They’re not geniuses like you or me.” said Donatello. Rita smiled. “Yeah, true.” she said. Then she took off her apron, and hung it up. “All right, let’s go.” said Rita. They walked out to the front of the store, where few customers remained. “Hey Marcy, tell Mr. Coat that I went home at 6:30 okay?” said Rita. “No problem.” said a blonde lady. Donatello and Rita then left the building, and went out to her parked car. Inside, Rita started the engine, and leaned back in her seat for a while. “You okay?” asked Donatello. “Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just that being on your feet for hours at a time, leaning over and fixing things takes a toll on your shell. Sometimes I’d really like to do the desk work job.” said Rita. “But then who’d do the repairs?” asked Donatello. “Exactly. No one. Oh well, I’ll be fine.” said Rita. Then she sat up, put the car in gear, and backed out of the lot, and drove over to the hotel. Shane had Mikey, Raph, and Corina in her van, while Roxanne had Leonardo, Venus, and Splinter in her jeep. Shane held her hand out the window which had a thumb up. Roxanne, who was parked behind her, took the signal. “All right, let’s go.” said Roxanne, and she began following Shane as they drove off. Mikey got to sit in the front this time while Raphael and Corina sat in the back. “So when are you gettin’ ya dirtbike back?” asked Raphael. “After I pay the $300 fine. It’s frustratin cos I lost my job last week, they closed down the store I worked at, so now I gotta ask my brother for some dough. He’s gonna love mockin’ me on that one.” said Corina. “Yeah, he seems like a royal pain in the shell.” said Raphael. “You don’t know the half of it. Ever since we was little Turtles, we always fought. He thought he was so cool, and that I was the dork. But ah well, maybe I’ll just let unemployment pay for the bike.” said Corina. “You should just ditch the bike and get yourself a cycle. I guarantee ya, that baby will get you much better mileage.” said Raphael. “I told you before man, too dangerous.” said Corina. “That’s why it’s so cool. Yo, I gotta show you how to ride one of these days.” said Raphael. “Oh yeah, you think you could teach me?” asked Corina, finding Raphael kind of amusing. “You bet.” said Raphael. Corina smiled. “Yeah aight. Whateva.” she said. “That’s the first time you smiled all the time I seen ya.” said Raphael with a small smile of his own. “Oh yeah, and why’s that so important to ya?” asked Corina. “Nothin’. It’s just, ya know, interestin.” said Raphael, blushing just a little. He meant to describe Corina’s smile as a little more than just interesting, but he didn’t want to, not just yet anyway. The group soon met up in the lobby of the Roxy Hotel. “This place is beautiful.” said Venus. “And we get to stay in it. Shelladelic!” said Mikey. Shane walked up to the front desk, and over to the desk clerk. “May I help you?” asked the clerk. “Yeah, I’d like to set those guys and girl up with rooms.” said Shane, gesturing over to the Turtles and Splinter. “How many rooms?” asked the clerk as he began typing on a computer. “Six.” said Shane. “Five!” said Leo in the background. Venus hit him. Roxanne looked at Leo for a moment. “Men.” she just said to herself as she rolled her eyes. “Names please.” said the clerk. “Uh, Splinter, Venus, Leonardo, Raphael, Michealangelo, and um, . . .hold on a sec.” said Shane to the desk clerk. “Hey you in the purple! What’s your name?” asked Shane as she turned behind her. “Donatello.” said Donny. “Oh yeah.” said Shane, then she turned back to the desk clerk. “Donatello.” she said. “Okay.” said the clerk. After a little while, Shane then came up to the group, and handed each one of them a key. “Your room numbers are on the keys, so, all I can say, is have a good time stayin’ here.” said Shane. “You’re leaving already?” asked Mikey. “Yeah, my parents might be worried about me by now.” said Shane. “Yeah right. They know that you stay out until all hours of the night.” said Corina. “Well, whatever. I gotta bounce. I’ll drop you off home if you want.” said Shane. “Yeah, that’ll be cool.” said Corina. “Bye guys, enjoy your stay. I’ll be by tomorrow 11-ish, to see how y’all are holdin’ up.” said Shane. “Okay, great. Thanks.” said Leonardo. “C-ya ‘round Raph.” said Corina. “Sure thing, Corina.” said Raphael. Then Corina and Shane left. “Well, let’s go.” said Venus eagerly. She couldn’t wait to see her room. “Listen, I’d love to show you around some of my favorite place in the city tomorrow, if you don’t mind.” said Rita. “No, not at all. I’d love to see them.” said Donatello. “Great.” said Rita with a smile. “I’ll come around, noonish then.” said Donatello. “Excellent, I’ll be ready.” said Donny. “All right, good, I’ll see you then.” said Rita. “Okay.” said Donatello. “Bye.” said Rita. “Bye.” said Donatello. Then she left. The Turtles and Splinter went up to their rooms. Leonardo went into his room and looked around. “Nice.” he said. Venus looked at it for a moment. “Very nice.” she said. “And room enough for two.” said Leonardo, hinting at his idea from earlier. “Nice try, but you have to stay in your own room.” said Venus. Leonardo pretended to pout a bit, which just made Venus smile. She gave him a kiss, and then pulled back a few seconds later. “I’ll see you in the morning.” she said. “Sure.” said Leo with a smile. Then they parted, and everyone else went to their rooms, and to bed. Shane and Corina were in the van just listening to music. Shane turned it down a little. “So Cori, what do you think of the new guys?” asked Shane. “They’re cool I guess. I think Shelly likes Mikey.” said Corina. “Why do you say that?” asked Shane. “She only commented and laughed about almost everything that he did, that’s all.” said Corina sarcastically. Shane chuckled. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. But you know how flirty Shelly can be.” she said. “Yeah, I guess.” said Corina. They sat in silence for a moment. “You’re not gettin’ your dirtbike back, are ya?” asked Shane. “Nah, I been meanin’ to get a car anyways.” said Corina. “Or a motorcycle?” asked Shane, hinting at the small conversations Corina and Raphael had about the motorcycle bit. “Shutup.” said Corina as she tried to hold back a smile. Shane just smiled and chuckled a bit as they continued on to Corina’s house. The next morning, a conversion van pulled up to the front of the Roxy Hotel, and two of the mice, the brown and the white one, from the day before came out. “We’ll be back soon, Charlie.” said the brown mouse. “Okay Ms. Cocoa.” said the driver. The two mice ladies went into the hotel, and up to the front desk. “May I help you two ladies this morning?” asked the desk clerk. “Yes, we’d like to know which room Splinter is staying in.” said the white mouse. “Splinter? Is that a last name, a first name . .” “It’s his full name.” said the brown mouse. “I see, well, I’ll check.” said the desk clerk. “Ah yes, room 1023.” said the clerk. “Oh my, the 10th floor. My arthritis acts up at high altitudes. Can’t you just let him know that we’re here?” asked the white mouse. “Can do ma’am. Who will I say is asking for him?” asked the desk clerk. “Ms. Cocoa.” said the brown mouse. “And Ms. Flour.” said the white mouse. “Very well then.” said the desk clerk, and he called Splinter’s room. Inside, Splinter was just walking around his room, exploring the comforts of being somewhere other than the sewer, and being safe at the same time. He found some of the gadgets in the room to be quite confusing, if not useless. Like the minibar for example. But he just walked away from it, and over to something else. Just then, his phone rang. He looked at it, and picked it up. “Hello?” he said. “Yes, this is the desk clerk. There are two ladies down here looking for you. They go by the names Ms. Cocoa, and Ms. Flour.” said the desk clerk. “Ah yes, I know them. I will be right down.” said Splinter, then he hung up the phone. “He’ll be coming down shortly.” said the desk clerk. “Thank you very much.” said Ms. Cocoa. Splinter soon came down, and was winded as he approached them. “Goodness! Why are you so winded, Splinter?” asked Ms. Flour. “I have traveled, all the way, from the 10th floor stairs.” said Splinter. “Um sir, we do have elevators.” said the desk clerk. Splinter looked towards the elevators, then back towards the desk clerk. “I know of these, elevators. But I am not sure of how they work.” said Splinter. The desk clerk looked confused. He thought that everyone knew how elevators worked. “We mustn’t think about elevators now. Come, let’s go to the van and down to City Hall.” said Ms. Cocoa. “Shall I say you’re out if anyone asks about you sir?” asked the desk clerk. “Yes please.” said Splinter. “Very well sir, have a good day.” said the desk clerk. “Thank you, and likewise.” said Splinter. The desk clerk smiled. Then Splinter left, and got into the van with the two mice ladies. “This is very nice of you two.” said Splinter. “Oh it’s our pleasure. We’re helping someone out, and that makes us feel good inside.” said Ms. Flour. “I am glad.” said Splinter with a smile. “Where to?” asked the van driver. “To City Hall.” said Ms. Cocoa. So the van driver drove off. Back at the hotel, Mikey had taken advantage of the room service option, and ordered himself a big breakfast. “Oh yeah, this is the life.” he said to himself as he watched television. Then he looked around, and found himself getting very attached to this new lifestyle. No sewers, no searching for food, no, none of that at all. Room service and a fancy hotel room, how could you go wrong? Leonardo got his wish to be in the same room as Venus; but they only had breakfast. “How’d you sleep last night?” asked Leo. “Very well. It was one of the most refreshing nights of rest that I have ever had.” said Venus. “Yeah, I gotta admit. This place is pretty nice.” said Leo, then he bit into some toast. “And the toasters around here actually work. This toast isn’t even burnt.” Venus giggled. Raphael was watching television when a knock came to the door. “Who?” he asked, still absorbed in the action-packed scene on the television. “The wild child.” said a familiar voice. “Come in.” said Raphael. “Yo, these doors got locks ya know.” said Shane. Raphael then quickly got up and ran over to the door, opened it, and went right back to the television. Shane and Corina walked in. “Wassup Raph?” Shane asked. “Nothin.” said Raphael absent-mindedly. “He’s watching violence, a guy’s favorite pastime. We should leave him be.” said Corina. “No need, commercial.” said Raphael as he turned to the two. “So, how’d you like your first night of freedom?” asked Corina. “Pretty cool. I mean, a television without an antenna you gotta adjust every 5 seconds, a cool bed,no hidin. . . it works for me.” said Raphael. “So, where do you want to go today? What’s on your mind?” asked Shane. “Hmm . . . motorcycles. I wanna see what y’all got in terms of vehicles.” said Raphael. “Can do.” said Shane. “So you wanna find some danger machines. Aight, we can go to a dealership. Maybe they’re hirin’ or somethin.” said Corina. “Besides, I wanna buy myself a car anyway.” “A car? Whoa, that’s a step down babe. You were better off with the dirtbike.” said Raphael. “Yeah, aight.” said Corina, kind of ignoring him. “Well let’s bounce y’all.” said Shane. So they all left the room, and went out to Shane’s van. “Cori, what’s the fastest way to get to the dealership?” asked Shane as she started up the van. “The Highway is the only way.” said Corina as she sat in the back seat. “Aight then, let’s go!” said Shane, and she drove off to the nearest highway. Back at the hotel, Donatello was half asleep as the phone rang. He picked it up. “Hello?” he said sleepily. “Oh sorry, did I wake you up?” asked a familiar voice on the other line. “Rita? Oh, no. I was just waking up.” said Donatello. “Oh, well, if you’re too tired now, I could probably show you around town later.” said Rita. “No, no. It’s oka . . .” Donatello accidentally rolled off the bed and fell onto the floor. Rita heard the noise. “Is everything all right?” she asked. “Yeah, yeah, it’s fine. Sorry about that. I just fell out of the bed. I’m not used to sleeping in a bed ya know.” said Donatello as he got up off the floor and sat on his bed. “Oh, I can imagine.” said Rita. “But it’s okay, come on over. I’ll be down in a few.” said Donatello. “Ok, but only if you’re sure.” said Rita. “Don’t worry, I am.” said Donatello. “Okay then, I’ll see you soon.” said Rita. “All right, bye.” said Donatello. “Bye.” said Rita, then she hung up. Donatello looked around the room, and smiled a little; this was nice, really nice. At the car dealership, Shane, Corina, and Raphael all looked around. Raphael stopped to look at a motorcycle with something that looked like rocket boosters near the back of it. “Whoa, this baby looks loaded.” said Raphael. “You would ride something like that?” asked Corina. “Yeah, why not?” asked Raphael. Corina just shook her head. “It looks phat.” said Shane. A car dealer approached them. “Can I help you all?” he asked. “Yeah, how much is this thing?” asked Raphael. “Oh that is $6,500. That’s one of the models that we detail for an extra charge of $100.” said the car dealer. “Sweet.” said Raphael with a smile. “Say, are y’all hirin here?” asked Corina. “Why yes, as a matter of fact. We have a couple of positions open.” said the car dealer. “One of them is making deals and selling cars to customers.” “And option 2 is . . .” said Corina. “Filing paperwork and taking it from one place in the dealership to the other.” said the car dealer. “Well, it sounds kinda iffy, but I think I could do good with option 2.” said Corina. “Very well then, I’ll have my boss sign you up as soon as I can.” said the car dealer. “Cool.” said Corina. So, the group spent most of their day at the car dealership, and Corina got signed up for a new job, while Raphael grew attached to the pretty motorcycle. Shane just hung out with the two. Splinter was moving around town with the mouse ladies. At one point, they stopped at a clothing store where they met up with a friend of the mouse ladies. “Oh hello Jeb! How nice to see you!” said Ms. Cocoa to an elderly brown dog. “Hello Ms. Cocoa, Ms. Flour. What fine weather. And who is with you?” asked Jeb as he approached them and Splinter. “This is Splinter. He came from this dreadful dimension where no one even knows about mutants.” said Ms. Cocoa. “He had to live in a sewer. Isn’t that awful?” asked Ms. Flour. “It sure is! My goodness fellow, is this the only piece of clothing that you own?” asked Jeb. “Yes, it is. It is the only piece of clothing that an old friend of mine gave me a long time ago.” said Splinter. “Well, this item obviously has sentimental value to you, and it is very nice. But friend, you must have something else to wear as well being here.” said Jeb. “But I do not have any money.” said Splinter. “No matter, I have a little extra spending money. Come friend, I’ll have you looking sharp in no time.” said Jeb. “Jeb has wonderful fashion sense. He’ll have you feeling comfortable in a style, but still looking sharp!” said Ms. Cocoa. Splinter smiled, he liked this dimension more and more. Donatello and Rita met up in the lobby of the hotel, and went out to Rita’s car. “So, how are you?” asked Rita. “Pretty good, and you?” asked Donatello. “I’m pretty happy. No work for me today, so I’m doing good.” said Rita. “Great. So, where are we going?” asked Donatello. “Well, I thought we might go up to 42nd Street, and walk around. There are some great restaurants up there and everything.” said Rita. “Sounds great to me.” said Donatello. Rita smiled. Raphael hung out at the dealership, Donatello hung out with Rita, Leonardo and Venus hung out in the room in the hotel, and ventured downstairs once and had lunch in a restaurant, and enjoyed some of the things the hotel had to offer. Splinter got new clothes, and ate out with the mouse ladies and Jeb. Mikey had pretty much ate and slept in his room all day, until nighttime. He came out of his room, and decided to go out and walk around the area. Mikey soon found a dance club, and was able to pass the bouncer since it was all-access night. Inside, Mikey found just what he liked most; a party! People were dancing everywhere, and there were a lot of girls in there, which was also something that Mikey liked. “This place is so groovilicious!” he exclaimed. “There’s only one guy I know who uses that word.” someone said. Mikey turned around to see Shelly standing there, and he smiled. “Hey, how are ya?” he asked. “Great! I was like, gonna come get you from the hotel to tell you about the dance club, but you like, already found it. Way cool!” said Shelly. “Oh, cool. I almost thought that everyone forgot about me.” said Mikey. “Nah, the others have just been kinda busy.” said Shelly. “Oh.” said Mikey. “Come on Shelly! Get you and your friend’s shell on the dance floor now!” said a red-haired girl. Shelly giggled a little. “All right, all right.” she said. “Can ya dance?” asked Shelly as she turned to Mikey. “Can I? You bet!” said Mikey. “Shella-delic! Then let’s get out on the dance floor, come on!” said Shelly. So he and Shelly got on the dance floor, and had a great time. The other Turtles and Splinter were back at the hotel getting ready for bed now. They all had a big day. The Turtles and Master Splinter all stayed there for about a couple of weeks, when Splinter called a meeting in one of the empty meeting rooms at the hotel. “So what’s up Master?” asked Leonardo. Splinter stepped in front of everyone in his new robe. “I have come here to tell you all about my unique decision.” said Splinter. “What’s that?” asked Raphael. “I have chosen to stay here in this dimension. I have already gotten a citizenship here, and am moving into a new home as of today.” said Splinter. “Whoa.” said Mikey. “That’s great.” said Donatello. “Because I just applied for citizenship a week ago. Rita’s taking me back to City Hall today to sign some papers, and I’ll be officially a member of society.” he said. “When did you do all of this Master?” asked Venus. “I decided to stay ever since the first day. My new friends, Ms. Cocoa, Ms. Flour, and Jeb Foyer, have shown me a better life. Our enemies are all gone, and it is time that we seek better lives.” said Splinter. “Donatello has already done so, and I am proud of his decision.” “Thank you Master.” said Donatello. “So, that’s it huh? We’re staying?” asked Leonardo. “That is up to you, my son. But as for me, I am staying.” said Splinter. “Me too.” said Donatello. “Triple that. There ain’t nothin’ betta back in the sewers, that’s for sure.” said Raphael. “There’s a party every night out here, I’m definitely staying!” said Mikey. Leonardo and Venus glanced at each other. “Well, what is there to go back to?” asked Leonardo. “Absolutely nothing.” said Venus. “All right, then, I guess you and I are staying too.” said Leonardo. “I agree.” said Venus. Splinter smiled. “We are now, home.” he said. Everyone looked very happy, and began cheering all around. “Woo hoo! No more cowerin’ in the sewers!” said Mikey. “Oh yeah! This is, the life.” said Raphael. The Turtles had finally found the place they felt most comfortable in, it was like, their destiny. Later on that day, Raphael and Mikey joined Shane, Roxanne, Shelly and Corina at the pizza place. “And so we all decided to stay!” said Mikey. “Like, way cool!” said Shelly. “Good thinkin’ guys.” said Shane. “Well, I guess I’m gonna get used to seeing you all.” said Roxanne with a half smile. “Good goin Raph.” said Corina, a half smile on her face as well. “And I still haven’t forgotten about the motorcycle thing.” said Raphael. “Whateva.” said Corina. Donny went to CompUSA that evening as Rita was coming out of the back. “Hey Rita.” said Donny. “Hey Donatello Reece.” said Rita with a smile. Donatello smiled back. “Yep, that’d be me.” he said proudly. “It’s great to have you here. Oh my gosh, I could just . . .” Rita stopped. “What?” asked Donatello. “Oh, nothing. Nothing, I was about to say something silly, or whatever.” said Rita, sounding just a bit uneasy. “Come on tell me. I heard a lot of silly things in my life, I wouldn’t mind hearing another.” said Donatello. “Well, I was gonna say, I could just, hugyou.” said Rita, saying the last part very fast so that Donatello couldn’t catch it. “What?” asked Donny. “Hug you.” said Rita, quite bashfully. “So why don’t you?” asked Donny. Rita looked at him for a moment. Then she smiled, and gave him a big hug, and Donatello returned the favor. “Welcome to your new home Donny.” she said. “Thanks, I’m glad to be here.” he said as the two still hugged. It took them all another couple of months to get completely settled into their new home, but they did. They were all citizens, and all enjoying life in their new home. THE END.
