His Appeal
He appealled his conviction, almost immediately,
For myself and family, this was no surprise.
However, he argued almost everything except for the color of the Judge's robe.
Of course, he blamed my daughter's murder on someone else.
He blamed his attorney's for his conviction,
He blamed the prosecutor, the Judge, the Sheriff's Dept, and the Police.
His claims were outlandish and over-exagerated.
The Supreme Court upheld his conviction, but it didn't end there . . .
He came back to the District Court in Laramie, demanding a new trial.
He claimed new evidence, 'Someone else did it, not me'
But yet, his new defenders could not provide the court with plausible evidence. A new trial was denied.
He appealled the Supreme Court again.
He blamed his new attorneys.
Now we are back in District Court again, the appeal decision on hold, while his 5th set of attorneys attack.
The new year will once again bring me face to face with him,
as, once again, he comes back to Laramie. He wants his time reduced, he claims to be a hard worker and responsible in prison. I ask - what does that have to do with what you did to my Daphne?
People have asked me, "Are you over it yet?"
First of all, you never, ever get over having your child murdered.
Can I find peace, a way to get through each day?
I am trying, but each time he comes back - it makes it all that much more difficult. I long for the day that he is not in my mind, that I don't have to see him I long for the day that he is punished for what he did.
