We got married on 27th October, 2003!!!!!
Well, this was just a civil wedding at Standesamt in Berlin.... the real party is still to come!!! We were going to get married next summer but we could not wait. Hey, isn't it wonderful to be able to celebrate this twice!?!? Now I am officially Mrs Ayano Schramm (my god, I need to practise my new signature). I was thinking of retaining my name Kimura but it looks strange when a wife has a different name to her husband - anyway, Ayano Schramm doesn't sound so bad, does it? Anyway, we got engaged quite early but we already knew that we were made for each other from the beginning. Of course, like other couples, we have many hurdles ahead of us, but we are sure that we will go through everything together. I have never had such a secure feeling before with anyone else. God, I can write a book about how he makes me feel and how much I love him, but to cut the story short, I want to spend the rest of my life with this man and with him, I would like to build my own family!!! So.... here are some photos of our engagement (which kept it to ourselves - wanted to have it as private as possible, that's why there aren't any pictures of our friends here).

Ahhhhh da ring is on my finga!!! Tobi's brilliant attempt to make a photo of our hands with rings... To the right: Ayano completely filled with joy (and a bit of prosecco) after receiving a ring from Tobi
There is a little story to these rings. They are by Damiani, co-designed by Brad Pitt. I fell in love with the ring when I saw it on the internet some time ago but then I read that the company was sued by Brad for breaching the "exclusivity production agreement" of this ring... which was of course, dedicated to his dearest wife, Jennifer Anniston. Anyway, having read this story, I was very sure that this ring was not available anymore (I even wrote to Damiani and the damn Italian didn't care to reply to my mail!). In the meanwhile, we looked everywhere for different rings but nothings really convinced us...you know how boring those ordinary rings look like! One day we were shopping in Berlin and I decided to invite Tobi for a cup of tea at my favourite cafe, Cafe im Literaturhaus. We were walking towards it but guess what we saw right next door.... the Damiani store! AND the rings were displayed at the window!!!!! We bought them immediately... they were just the right one... we knew the first time we saw them!!! So voila, now they are part of us...
These are pre-ring days but he already proposed me then. This is the highest, open-terrace in the whole world. It offers the most amazing view over Bangkok, but unfortunately this particular evening was very windy. The storm was coming towards us and 5 minutes after we left, it was raining like crazy. Oh, the restaurant is called Vertigo. You can have such an excellent selection of food!!!!! Do you want to know how he proposed me? One weekend we were in the resort hotel in Bad Saarow, where our dear friend Paul K works as a golf pro. Tobi's friend invited us there and we had a very lovely time together - our first "leave-out weekend". One evening we were chatting in bed, and we were just talking about blah-blah - but then he did not want to tell me something, which really annoyed me! Don't you hate when someone start to say something, and he doesn't finish what he started to say? Well after a 5-minute battle of tickling etc, he surrendered and said, "Willst Du mich heiraten?", i.e. "do you want to marry me?" I could not believe what I heard but surprisingly I said "yes" without any doubts. I was not afraid of anything... I just felt... happy.
