"A great darkness shrouded the world. The wind died. The sea raged. The earth began to decay. Only a prophecy kept hop alive in people's hearts:
"When darkness veils the world, four warriors of light shall come."
And after journeying far, four young warriors did at last appear. In the hands of each rested a mysterious crystal..."

Chapter 1: The Princess of Cornelia
12/15/03
A wise sage, Lukan, prophesized the coming of the four light warriors just as he left the kingdom of Cornelia.
Three days later, the four warriors met at the gates of Cornelia. Upon entering the kingdom, they discovered that the once-loyal knight, Garland, had kidnapped Princess Sarah. The king's informants had pinpointed their location to be the Temple of Chaos to the north. So, their first mission was to rescue the beloved princess and prove.
The Temple of Chaos

After rescuing the princess, the king honored the warrior's bravery with a bridge, and the princess blessed the warriors with her lute.

Chapter 2: A Ship and a Three-Ring Circus 12/16/03
"And so their journey began.
As the warriors of light, the four youths faced a staggering
mission and a stormy destiny.
The four crystals they carried remained a mystery to them...
In ages past, those crystals had radiated a dazzling light.
The time for heroes is at hand. Darkness must be banished
so the light of peace can illuminate the world once more."
Matoya's Cave: A Witch's Vision
Not really sure what lay before them, the four warriors made their way north and found a cave. Curiosity got the better of them, and they found that in that cave lived a world renowed witch named Matoya. Yet, at the moment, she was frantically creating havoc, desperately trying to find her eyes.

Pravoca: Stealing the Pirate's Ship
Unable to help the witch, the warriors made their way south to the village of Pravoca, hoping there, they would find something. In a sense, they did: pirates were raiding the seaside town when they arrived, and so, naturally, a battle between them ensued.

After defeating the pirates, the heroes got command of their ship, and more clues about their next mission.

What a horrible sight that was...the earth rotting and monsters attacking as soon as night fell. Please help us!"
Elfheim:The Kingdom's Sorrow
With their new mode of transportation, the warriors cruised the Aldean Sea. Although they were mostly carefree, they didn't forget their task at hand, and what the citizens of Cornelia and Pravoca had said about the Elven Prince. Particularly rumors in Cornelia said that the Light Warrior's weapons were sealed within its castle, and that the only one who can break the seal was the Elven Prince.
At the kingdom of Elfheim, the heroes finally learn about the dark elf Astos, and how he had cursed the Prince five years ago.

where dwarves dwell. A great bunch they are."

Western Keep:Abandoned Castle
The heroes now faced a daunting task: to find a cure to the Prince's curse. Many of the elves were panicking because they had been trying to find the cure for five years. Some even suggested that the witch, Matoya may be able to cure the Prince.
Anything was worth a shot at the moment, so with the little bit of information, the heroes wandered Westward and stumbled upon the Western Keep. There, they learned that the same villain, Astos, was responsible for its dilapidated condition. The king of the keep then asked that the light warriors help him restore the castle, by going into the Marsh Cave to the south, and retrieving the Crown.

The Well
As Boot lay mumbling incoherently by the roadside, a white mage and a black mage stumble upon him. Recognizing him immediately, they rush over to his side
Slipper: Boot! Boot! Wake up!
Heel: It seems he's totally exhausted...
Slipper: Hey Heel stop poking him and help me carry him to that town over there! Maybe they can help us!
The two light warriors, carry the exhausted Boot to the town of Cornelia, and lay him to rest at the local inn. In the inn is Innkeeper, gossiping with four old guys. Their clumsy entrance disturbs their conversation.
Innkeeper: Yo, that's 30 gil right there.
Slipper: ?Gill, what's gill?
Old man: Hey, Innkeeper, you see what those kids are wearing?
Innkeeper: Yeah? so--Hey, you're the Light Warriors!!
Suddenly, foot soldiers of King appear at the inn's doors
Soldier: Are you the light warriors!?
Slipper and Heel: What?
Soldier: You have the crystals! You must be them! Hurry, we must to King at once!
Confused, the mages Slipper and Heel follow the soldier. Once inside King's chamber, they see an old friend, Shoe
King: Welcome Light Warriors --uh..where's the fourth one?
Soldier: ...he's kinda unconcious, so I let Servant take care of him.
King: Ok...Welcome again. (= (awkward silence)
Heel: um...what's going on?
King: I don't know. But you came just in time to help me save my daughter.

Chapter 3: Round and About 12/17/03
The warriors realized that the Marsh Cave was a little difficult to explore. So, they remembered another clue and set sail Westward to the Dwarve's home, Duergar.

Now feeling more capable of the trials ahead, the warriors returned to the Marsh Caves to seek the Crown for the King of the Western keep.

Western Keep Revisited
Upon finding the crown, the heroes gleefully made their way back to the king of the Western Keep. Shockingly, the King laughed maniacally and revealed his true form: Astos. He had tricked the heroes into retrieving the Crown for him so he can more easily take over Elfheim.

Weak against magical attacks.
When the heroes beat Astos, they received Matoya's Crystal Eye. So, they returned it to her, and for that, she gave them her most powerful potion, a Jolt Tonic. Not really whether it would really work, they still gave it a try and lo and behold, the Elven Prince's curse was lifted. Their reward for their efforts was the Mystic Key.

The Marsh Cave Excavation

On the first trip, the upper parts were explored, and a dagger, a broad sword, and 1300gil were discovered.
The 2nd and 3rd trips explored the lower regions. They were not fruitful, but Menruh and Barun began hitting bad guys twice.
On the fourth trip, a steel plate, copper armlet, and 680 gil were discovered.
Finally, on the last trip, the heroes find a Cottage and a Crown.

Chapter 4: Melmond's Hellmouth 12/18/03
After collecting the items guarded by the Mystic Key, the light warriors returned to Duergar to help one of the dwarves build his canal. With the Nitro Powder, the project was a success. This canal allowed now allowed them all to explore the outer seas.
Melmond
"I fled here from Melmund, a town far to the west. What a horrible sight that was...the earth rotting and monsters attacking as soon as night fell. Please help us!"
Melmond indeed was an awful sight: death and destruction was everywhere from the vampire's last raid.

Devil's Tail. You'll find the Terra Cavern there."
- "The closer you went to that cave, plants grew healthier
and yielded more. That seems like ages past."
Terra Cavern

Boss: Vampire
Relatively easy.
After defeating the vampire, the heroes found that there was more to the cave, but it was sealed by a stone plate that rested on the floor, which seemed to emanate an evil force.
The heroes exited the Terra Cavern and headed northwest to the Titan's Cave. They gave the titan guard the Star Ruby the vampire left them. The titan ate it greedily and let them past thru to the Sage's Cave, where Sadda lived.
Sage's Cave

Terra Cavern Revisited
Boss: Lich
Weak against Fire and Dia. It helps to put up the nulls
After defeating Lich, Barun, the red mage noticed that his crystal was responding to the presence of the Earth Crystal. So he walked up to it as if in trance, touched it, and suddenly, the Earth Crystal regained it's beautiful shimmer.
Back to Melmond
The heroes returned triumphant. Even before their return, the citizens of Melmond were already noticing the power of the Earth Crystal and the Light Warriors who revived it.

Shoe: Hm...maybe we should've supplied ourselves with weapons before we headed out...
So, after a very long while, the Light Warriors finally reach the Temple of Chaos, although in a very exhausted state...
Boot: Hey, let's go right.
Slipper: No, left!
Heel: Why don't we all head towards the middle?
Boot: Hey, this is pretty easy
Garland: Puny King's men! Die!!!
After the disappointingly easy battle with Garland, the Light Warriors head back to Cornelia with Princess Sarah
Boot: We go through all that hell and get a stupid loot and a bridge.
Heel: It seems like this loot keeps you from getting drunk though.
Now that the Light Warriors have saved the princess and have proven themselves true, they venture forth unto a new world.

Chapter 5: Mt. Gulg Erupts 1/26/04
Wandering around, the light warriors finally found an accessible city: Crescent Lake.
Crescent Lake: The Quiet Calm
Crescent Lake was a very beautiful, quiet little town. Yet hidden on its outskirts are the sages of the land, gathered in haste to discuss the future of the world: its impending doom, and the mysteries of the Light Warriors.

Mt. Gulg: Walking on Lava
The heroes carefully make their way to Mt. Gulg. The creatures and the heat were rather difficult for the Light Warriors. Still, they persevered, and eventually found their way to where the Fire Fiend, Marileth, was preparing doom upon the world.

The ordeal at Mt. Gulg totally took its toll on the heroes and they had to rehabilitate for a while at Crescent. While on hiatus, they learned more about the whereabouts of a levistone

Boot: Hahahaha! You pirate turds!!! Surrender now or we will inflict much pain upon your booties!!!
Captain: Wtf dudes~ git 'em!!!!

Captain: Mercy man, mercy! Here lil dudes, you can have my ship!
Boot: Hey hey hey, that's more like it!
With the new ship, Boot and friends travel the ocean blue.
Slipper: Boot! Quit fishing!! Every time you pull out some monster we have to battle!
Boot: What? But they give us money and exp.
Heel: What's exp.?
Boot: Dunno, but it sure tastes good ^.^
