| Arawn Lord of the Dead |
| Lord of all Annwyn, the realm of departed spirits, the underworld of Hibernia. A most famous legend involving him is when he exchanges places with Pwyll for one year, in order that Pwyll might defeat an enemy, King Hafgan. Although Arawn set no conditions upon the exchange, when the pact ended (unsuccessfully) and each returned to their own heritage, Arawn discovered that Pwyll had denied himself of his own accord the rights of a husband to Arawn's Lady. Thus Arawn swore an eternal vow of friendship and support to Pwyll and his followers, a pact honored to this day by followers of the Lord of Death. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Donn Deathmaster |
| Donn is a solitary King of the underworld, with domain over the restless dead, or the undead. He is hated and feared by mortal Hibernians especially because of recent events that led to the arrival of necromancers in the armies of Albion. Donn is therefore attributed to aiding the Albion betrayers and is despised by Hibernians. But there are some who follow his ways...some that believe in vastly different futures. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Rhiannon Kinslayer |
| Although not always in the domain of Death, Rhiannon has the dubious past of being accused of her own son's kidnapping and death. As punishment, she was compelled to take the form of a terrible black steed, the Nightmare, and run forever in the dark. The pookhas are believed to be her progeny, and her followers are those who despise their own races or people (but that does not exclude them from liking or even living with others). | |||||||||||||||||||
| Taran Thundergod |
| Distant peels of thunder are Taran's sign that death rides on the wind. Associated closely with gods of the underworld and gods of War, Taran's thundrous cry is a sure portent that blood will be spilled, and that death comes for those who deserve it. Followers of Taran are usually upholders of law, some warriors, and great heroes. They also strongly, and militantly, oppose the Midgard false god Thor and Odin, both of whom bastardize the holy lightning bolt and claim thunder as their own. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Esus Sacrificer |
| Of all the gods of Hibernia, few are more feared and respected than Esus. This woodland god holds domain over all sacrifices, especially human. He is a dark and savage god, with altars and memorial stones scattered all throughout Hibernia's forests. He is often portrayed in the act of cutting willow branches, and his images often connect him with waterbirds, particularly storks or cranes. His story was lost to the world, and even to the Pantheon, until the discovery of the Shrouded Isles. There the sylvan kept Esus alive through ritualistic sacrifice, appeasing him for good fortune for the race. | |||||||||||||||||||
