| the only thing i hate about these coffee houses is... well, not really the only thing. i can never find anything i want to drink there, but other than that. open mic night is one of the best things that can happen to a talented group or artist. what i hate is these little new alternative rock groups, who do rock that is nowhere near alternative, and all the trendy little fucks come to watch their friends or even just acquaintances play their shit-for-music songs and maybe have a mocha frappacino or whatever new-age version of caffiene their favorite movie star drinks and they just happen to like as well. the trendies always get there early enough to rave about how great "the show" will be and how cool they are that they know people in what they think is a great band, all this going on while someone much more talented and deserving of attention is on the stage pouring their heart and soul out for all to hear with half of the people not listening. some day, somewhere, there will be a person, or a group, who will make the difference by standing up and yelling into the mic, "DENY ME AND BE DOOMED" |
