Danza Contigo Per�'s
MARINERA
The Marinera is Per��s national dance and it was named by Abelardo Gamarra, Peruvian author, in honor of Admiral Grau and the Peruvian Navy (Navy in Spanish is Marina).
Each region or department of Per� offers its own rendition.
La Marinera Norte�a, is one of many interpretations. La Marinera Norte�a exemplifies the coastal flavor of the Northern cities of Peru, such as Lambayeque.
Its is singled out by the characteristic accompaniment of a municipal band. The dancers gracefully raise and wave their handkerchiefs.
