| Grupo Folkl�rico Cent�otl Representing the Goddess Cent�otl, the Goddess of Corn. The holidays of the Guelaguetza initiate with the ofrendas to the Goddess Cent�otl. In the framework of the festivities one inscribes the current festivals Of the Monday of the Hill (Lunes del Cerro), in which now emphasizes the spectacle of Music, Dances, and Singings called Guelaguetza. January 6, 2002 gives beginning to this new group of dance and Oaxacan tradition. The purpose of the Grupo Folkl�rico Cent�otl is to continue representing our cultural roots here in The United States and to show the people the multicultural mosaic that possesses the state of Oaxaca. That's why our task has been to continue fomenting to the young people and children the heredity of our ancestors and to keep them away from drugs and gangs and so that they can coexist in family union. The goals of El Grupo Folkl�rico Cent�otl are, to share and promote Oaxacan culture as well as to meet people and make friends. The dances themselves represent the seven unique regions of the state of Oaxaca. In each dance the costumes, music, and choreography combine to create a lasting image of the people and their cultures. Typically, the Guelaguetza is a celebration held in Oaxaca usually on the last two Mondays in July. People come from many parts of the world to see and experience the Guelaguetza. Grupo Folkl�rico Cent�otl Representando a la Diosa Cent�otl, Diosa de el Ma�z. Las fiestas de la Guelaguetza inician con las ofrendas a la Diosa Cent�otl. En el marco de las festividades se inscribe las actuales fiestas De los Lunes del Cerro, en las que ahora se destaca el espect�culo de M�sica, Danza, y Cantos llamados Guelaguetza. El 6 de Enero del 2002 da inicio a esta nueva agrupaci�n de danza y tradici�n Oaxaque�a. La finalidad del Grupo Folkl�rico Cent�otl es seguir representando nuestras ra�ces culturales aqu� en Los Estados Unidos y mostrarles el mosaico multicultural que posee el estado de Oaxaca. Es por eso que nuestra tarea ha sido seguir fomentando a los j�venes y ni�os la herencia de nuestros ancestros y alejarlos de las drogas y las pandillas y que convivan en uni�n familiar. Los objetivos del Grupo Folkl�rico Cent�otl son, compartir y promover la cultura de Oaxaca as� como encontrar a personas y hacer amigos. Los bailes s� mismos representan las siete regiones �nicas del estado de Oaxaca. En cada baile los trajes, la m�sica, y la coreograf�a se combina para crear una imagen durable de la gente y sus culturas. T�picamente, la Guelaguetza es una celebraci�n sostenida en Oaxaca, generalmente en los �ltimos dos lunes de Julio. Las personas vienen de muchas partes del mundo para ver y experimentar La Guelaguetza. |
