      "Eileen Flynn and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Jazz Vocal Studio invite the public to a jazz voice senior recital on Wednesday, April 27th, at 7:30 p.m.  She will be performing an evening of jazz, pop, and Brazilian standards.  The concert will be held in the CVPA, room 153 on the Dartmouth Campus, located at 285 Old Westport Road.

        Ms. Flynn has been studying jazz voice for over three years with Marcelle Gauvin and has performed throughout her college career.  She has been a featured vocalist with several groups, including the Jazz Vocal Ensemble, Spinners, the UMD Percussion Ensemble, the UMD Gospel Choir, and the UMD Chorus.

        Performing with Ms. Flynn will be faculty member Andy McWain, piano; guest musician Scott Pease, guitar; and classmates Kate Heffernan, flute; Gary Dufresne, guitar; Marcus Monteiro, saxophone; Sean Farias, bass; and fellow Franklin High School graduate Ryan Loud, percussion.  A vocal ensemble comprised of members of the Jazz Vocal Studio will also perform.

        Pieces prepared for the evening include jazz standards by Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, and Antonio Carlos Jobim, as well as an aria by Heitor Villa-Lobos for soprano and guitar, a rock piece by Jeff Buckley performed by the a cappella ensemble, and original music by Ms. Flynn.

       The concert is free and open to the public; Group VI is handicapped accessible."
