BELLE AND BEAST: "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST"
ALADDIN AND JASMINE: "ALADDIN" ~ I'm... kinda happy about this one. It only took me 3 hours... and it shows >.< It was just a little thing I did to pass the time. I didn't spend much time fixin' up Aladdin's face, and other little details that needed to be fixed. Nevertheless, it's decent I think. Not one of my best. I am glad that the skin colors look okay... when I was first putting in Jasmine's purple skin, it looked so weird! But once everything else was colored it worked better.
THE BEAST: "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST" ~ The Beast sure has a way with birds... This picture took me 2 days to finish. Overall... it feels rushed, especially the birds, which seem to detract from the amount of detail I put into the Beast. And it's one of my only sketches that took me well over 2 hours to draw... for some odd reason (again, probably the birds... those darned things). It's also my first Disney sketch that I actually sketched out the background to first... instead of just winging it, like I usually tend to do. The background took me a few hours as well, as you can probably see why. There's a few abnormalties that I never had the patience to fix... (and I think there's usually a line on the Beast's bridge of his nose, indicating fur... oops, left that out)
ARIEL: "THE LITTLE MERMAID" ~ Hmm... I'm not sure about this one. I'm very happy with the clouds... but not too sure about everything else. I found a picture online and drew it, and this is the result... but later when I watched this scene in the movie I realized that this scene never happend! Well, it did, but there was no splash when she was in this pose... the water strikes later on. I was upset... I can't call it a scene from the movie... Maybe I was looking at promotional art when I drew this... oh well. It's okay.
SIMBA, NALA, RAFIKI AND KIARA: "THE LION KING" ~ Okay, my most ambitious drawing TO DATE. Took me nearly 7 hours, including sketching. I didn't like it at first, but as I was fixing it up and adding in a background... it grew on me. And I looove drawing clouds, just thought I'd say that. There's some obvious differences between this and the actual image, especially in Rafiki and Kiara... but let's not focus on that for now :) It was also my very first CG done with Adobe Photoshop 7.0, which I LOVE by the way. It was frustrating to complete as well, my computer just wouldn't cooperate with me sometimes. I had to restart at least 4 times in the process of making this (and considering how long it takes for my computer to restart, that's probably why it took me 7 hours to finish this!) And that's about all I have to say about this. Who knows what I'll draw next...
KRONK AND YZMA: "EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE" ~ For some reason I wasn't too motivated to fix all the little mistakes in this one... I guess I'm generally unhappy with it. It's a little TOO simplistic for my tastes (I remember reading online somewhere that "ENG" was a "Disney movie on a diet," and it is, but it's still a great movie). This is a very funny scene, "Uh, he doesn't really wanna talk to you..." See the movie if you haven't, I guarantee you'll love it.
What I'm most unhappy about with this one is the thickness of the lines... they're TOO thick. But oh well, too late to change that now. And Timon looks kinda funny. :/ Oh well again! They're all singing happily... I love backgrounds like this one because there's so much freedom with the artist, and it still has a realistic look to it in the end. I also really like the color scheme of this one... a lot brighter than usual.
MUFASY AND SCAR: "THE LION KING" ~ I'm very happy with how this one turned out... dust effects always make me happy :D Didn't take me as long as usual either... maybe that's because I wasn't drawing their entire bodies. Actually, what was most difficult was getting the colors right... I had to change them constantly because they were off. And Mufasa's eye, I had some difficulty with that. As you can see in the sketch it was in a totally different angle at first... I corrected it for the most part. And rocks are near impossible to render, lol... I blur them way too much, you can't even tell there is rocks anywhere anymore. But, I still like it.
MUFASA: "THE LION KING" ~ I had a request to do this scene by one of my friends... I couldn't choose between this scene, or the scene where Mufasa first shoes up in the clouds and he's only an outline of clouds in the starry sky, with Simba on the grass looking up. But, obviously, I chose this one, because the clouds were just begging me to be drawn!!! (Like I've said many times before, I love drawing clouds) Mufasa was so hard to draw and make look right, considering the fact that I was working with a very blurry image... it came out... okay, I think.
MUFASA AND SIMBA: "THE LION KING" ~ It's kinda funny, I had zero hassle when making this picture. I barely erased any lines when I was sketching it, and I didn't edit a single part of the sketch through Photoshop. About 2-3 hours total, which is fast for me. I'm happy with the results, too. I picked this picture because I loved it's emotion (so sad... ::sniffle::) and I wanted to try and recreate that. I hope I was successful. I also love the color scheme, too. A lot different than the colors of my last pics I made.
SIMBA AND NALA: "THE LION KING" ~ Sweet sweet lord did I ever put my sweat and blood into this. It started out with a really really frustratingly bad sketch that took me an hour to do. I put so many changes and tweaks into it, and at the end it kinda looked like what I wanted it to, but overall... I wasn't happy at all. So the next day I started over, brand new sheet of paper. Same drawing, I just started over. And the final sketch was something I was happy with, so that was kinda the cue that it was okay for me to color it. And here it is. About an hour on the sketch, and 4 1/2 hours coloring it. Tada! I don't think I like it as much as the lone Simba sketch that's also on this site that I made. But I'm still pretty glad with how it came out...
SIMBA: "THE LION KING" ~ And this is Simba from "The Lion King," courtesy of... me! This one took about 2-3 hours to make, but I'm very happy with the results. After drawing Simba and Scar, I just needed to draw more Disney. I actually think... I like drawing this more than I like drawing anime! *gasp!* But I'm not ashamed! I love Disney! Well, I love most of Disney... not the part with "Atlantis" and whatever that new movie that's coming out is called. I had a hard time with Simba's eyes here, I hope they didn't turn out too bad. And backgrounds are always so much fun to make, heheh, especially since detail doesn't count and you can do almost whatever you want with them.
SIMBA AND NALA: "THE LION KING" ~ Aw how cute *gags* Don't ask me why I did this, I wanted one with an adult Simba and Nala, so here we are! There were some minor issues with this one, mostly with the size of Nala and the... width of Simba's head. But... those are all fixed for the most part. I was a little disappointed... I didn't realize till I got to the shading stage (the second to last stage) that there wasn't much variety in the shading... especially with Nala. So it kinda looks incomplete, but... that's how it's supposed to look, I swear!!
ZEBRAS: "THE LION KING" ~ What can I say... they're Zebras! I wanted to do some sort of image from the opening sequence, and thus, this image was born. It was hard doing the water, all those layers, each with a different opacity... it's hard making water NOT blue, but somehow still letting it look like water. I hope I was successful! And surprisingly, the zebra's stripes weren't too difficult to make! Overall, I suppose I'm pretty satisfied!
