Happy Cinco de Mayo! What a day for a white kid from Kansas! Man, I have so much to talk about in this blog. So much has happened since I last wrote anything. Let’s start with the least important news. I was driving home from a friend’s house yesterday when I saw a cop car pull out of a side street with his lights flashing. So, I did what any responsible citizen would do and I pulled over to let him pass. Except one difference he didn’t pass. Instead he stopped behind me and pointed his lights at my car. Many thoughts go through your mind when there is a police car behind you. I had to silence that little voice that said, “DRIVE!” So, the cop came to my window and said, “Well, I guess you know why I stopped you.” I told him I had no idea. He informed that about a block behind me, I had ran a stop sign. I apologized to the officer and told him that I didn’t even see the stop sign. The officer didn’t seem like he believed me. I knew my claim to ignorance was getting me know where. So, I commented on how cute his outfit made him look. Okay, I didn’t really do that. Short story even shorter, I got the ticket…no break. It’s $100. For a stop sign! Anyway I just want to share my story of injustice with all of you. If they really want you stop at an intersection they need to put up some flashing lights and a bunch of lasers. That would get your attention. Not some stupid sign on a poorly lit area. In bigger news I quit my job. I quit my paying job; not my job as President of S4 Productions. You know how hard it is to work when you know you’ll be leaving soon. Every task that needs to be done you view it as simply this, “Why should I care?” It was hard staying on my last two weeks but I did manage. It was kind of sad leaving behind some people that I had become good friends with. But now it’s on to greater things…I guess. I started my new job today. Is there any more awkward experience than your first day at a new job? I knew a few people there already because I had worked with them before at another job. But everyone in my department was brand new to me. And everything I was doing was brand new to me. More importantly everything I would be doing was really boring to watch another person do it. Not that it will be boring doing it but it’s not an audience getter. I don’t know what they think of me either. You might gather that I’m a little odd. One last piece of information, yesterday I deleted all 25 pages of the book I have been writing. I am nothing if I am not very particular on certain things. A book is a very big task and I want to do it right. So, I am going back to drawing board. Not giving in…just rethinking things. Check out www.geocities.com/s4productions for more information on that. Peace out! 2008-05-06 01:24:24 GMT
