Entry for August 10, 2007
Okay, so I know it’s been a while. But seriously, who’s reading this. I have a few stories I would like to share; some real some fake. But first let me tell you why it has been a while since my last entry. I got Guitar Hero or as I call it now “panic attack on a stick.” This game is nuts and extremely addictive. I beat it on medium, thought I was king of the world, I thought I was the best. I saw this ten-year-old kid on Youtube play a song flawlessly on expert. This made me realize that I might be getting old and I probably ought to get a life. So on to the stories. I fell out of bed this week. That’s right I fell out of bed. That’s a nice calm way to wake up…. falling towards the ground wondering what the heck is going on. I was sleeping at the foot of the bed because I am closer to the fan and it’s so stinkin’ hot. So, when I fell I smacked my foot on the night table. I guess that’s better than my head, but it banged my foot up pretty good. I tried telling people at work this story but they just look at me weird. It’s not very often that a grown man falls out of bed. Let’s see what else is new… I got indirectly struck by lightning! I was working on my computer this week. And I heard a loud bang come from outside and just as soon as the lightning struck I felt a spark shoot from the mouse to my hand. I’m lucky it didn’t fry my computer. You all are lucky too or you wouldn’t be getting such great entertainment. So on to the fake news… I’m starting a lion taming course at a community college. I’ve been interested in lion taming since I was a child. My cousin Stubbs used to be a lion tamer. He wasn’t that good though, hence the name Stubbs. The course hasn’t been too difficult yet. We mostly work with stuffed animals. Next week they are going to add some barbed wire. So that ought to make it a little more interesting. On to one serious matter, I’ve been thinking a lot about common courtesies. I think this is something we often overlook in our society. We are so focused in our own little worlds and we don’t even pay attention to those around us. I think it’s time we put into practice some common courtesies like, opening a door for someone, helping somebody carry something in, or smile at someone you make eye contact with and say hello instead of just walking by. It’s very small stuff but I really think it’s a big way to be Christ to people. It’s a way to start thinking of others. Well, I’m out. I have a new show on Youtube called, “The Barking Song.” Check it out!
