Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From the First Psychedelic Era
This here's a compilation that captures the spirit of being a teenage in the mid '60s. The joy of starting a rock band, the youthful energy, the fear and sometimes vicious attitude towards girls, influence by psychedelic drugs, etc. Some of these songs became hits or at least charted, such as the Standells' "Dirty Water" and Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense and Peppermints." Most of the rest are gems by obscure artists of whom little else is know about, like "You Must be a Witch" by the Lollipop Shoppe. Sometimes sloppy, amateurish, dated, ugly, derivative, but who cares? That is not the point. This collection is here to show what rock and roll became when those Beatles guys came by the shores. Each disc has its own separate disc, and I go by the individual song rating (from 1 to 5 stars).

Would I recommend it? I sure would, despite its price tag. It's worth its hefty price. But if you do buy it, do not listen to it all at once, you'll be overwhelmed. Rather, listen to one CD, give yourself about a week or two to familiarize yourself with the tracks, and then move on.
