GLOSSARY:

Aelfheim: Island home of the Sylvan Elves. The island is divided by mountains. The Sylvan Elves dwell in the forests south of the mountains. In 1988 humans arrived on the northern half of the island. In 2698 the elven King Oberon frees the humans which had been enslaved by Thord. The human kindgom of Jorumundar in the northern hills spread and created an empire spanning the entire middle sea. The Empire of Jorumundar fell with the death of Victor Franz. Jormundar is a minor client kingdom of the Cultheeri.

Aengus: High Elven noble.

Alesund: Iron Dwarf capital and capital of the Dwaffenreik.

Alliance of Light: Alliance of the Western Kingdoms from 10460 to 10461 during the War of Shadow.

Almarik al Rassan: Ruler of Batala and ally of Draakheeros.

Aseeri: Slave troops pressed into service in battle by the Draakheeri.

Baator: Land beyond the Black Mountains. Location of the Draakheeri kingdoms.

Balum Ironforge: Uterlandsdraak of the Dwaffenreik. Son of Vindalf Ironforge. Elected Uterlandsdraak in 422. A hardy campaigner and able ruler.

Beastriders: Elite warriors of the Draakheeri made up only of true blood drow. They ride massive catlike beasts with the heads of birds of prey which are covered in armored scaly hides. These vicious beasts are as deadly as the Drow warriors that ride them.

Cultheri: High Elves. Elven followers of Cultheri.

Cultheros: Legendary Elven wizard and philospher who wanders the world.

Dagda Ollathir: King of the High Elves.

Dain Strongarm: Exiled Mardrak of Styrland and a source of some contention between the Reik and Nordheim. After Styrland was overrun by the orcs and ratten, Dain led his loyal forces into Nordheim to carry on the war to free his kingdom. Dain is vocally unhappy with the Uterlandsdraak's focus on defeating Terminus and the ratten rather than liberating his kingdom.

Darkblood: Dragon and ally of Thord. Killed at Two Rivers Pass.

Dark Templars: Formerly the Order of the Knights of the Temple of St. Hoorn. The Templars were corrupted by the Kreeds and turned from the light to the Darkside. The Dark Templars openly declared for the forces of darkness in 456. Uterlandsdraak Balum Ironforge has seized all of the Templar lands and driven them from the Reik. The Templars are currently "guesting" in the Draakheeri Empire.

Doomgiver: Sword forged by Cyan Silverbane for Palamon Creed, Grandmaster of the Dark Templars.

Draakheer: Dragonlord, war leader of the elves. There are nine Draakheer. Thord is the First and their Leader. The others are Dispater, Minauros, Fierana, Levistus, Malagard, Maladomini, Triel, and Molikroth.

Draakheeri: The dark elves and followers of the Sepah Salaar Thord. Also known as the Drow.

Draakheeros: Great city and capital of the Draakheeri Empire.

Dreadlords: Terminus Eldorado's lieutenants. Powerful beings commanding the darklord's undead armies. They are Loviatar, Ajatar, Angrboda, Malsumis, Mokoi, Oranah, Vammatar, Smertod, Kriplugg, Vermingetorix and Doddrommer. Doddrommer was destroyed at the siege of Wulfteken in March 457.

Dunkelsdraak: Terminus Eldorado, Avatar of the old gods.

Dwaffenreik: Political conglomeration of lands rising of the War of the Alliance of Light. The Reik is more akin to a confederation of states than a state in and of itself. The provinces of the Reik include Alesaand, Varheem, Stavanger, Goldhopiggen, Trondelag, Vanhern, Koelland, Boden, Styrland, Drakos, Amoricia, Sequanus, Jura, Messantia, Lotharia, Havamaal, Khazand and Abkhazia. The ruler of the Reik is the Uterlandsdraak who is elected for life from among the Landsdraaks of the Reik. Since its founding every Uterlandsdraak has come from one of the original provinces of the Iron Dwarfs.

Einherjar: Elite cavalry of Nordheim.

Garglyn: Demonic giants defeated by the Elves in the War of Power in the last age. Remnants of their race fled underground and established the subterranean realm of the Schwarzer Mond in the east. Around 6200 the garglyn were discovered and conquered by Thord and his Draakheeri.

Gilmer's Portal: Artifact from the War of Light which allows a non-mage to use the Portals or to create a portal.

Grimmhold: Capital city of the island of Skaara.

Hanum Ironforge: Archbishop of Alesund and spiritual leader of the Dwaffenreik.

Hoorn Hammerfist: First Uterlandsdraak (High King) of the Iron Kingdom of the Dwarfs. Defeated Terminus Eldorado at the Dreadfort.

Idavol: New capital of Nordheim.

Jormundar: Capital of the Jormundgaard Empire from 10151 to 10464.

Jormundgaard: Human kingdom on the northern half of Aelfheim. The kingdom has become a backwater after its conquest by Thord and the death of the last emperor, Victor Franz.

Kaja-Ra: the Dunklesratte. Ratten warleader gifted with the powers of Terminus Eldorado.

Kalach: Capital of the ancient human empire of the same name that once ruled all of the north and much of the rest of the continent. The empire was destroyed by its delving into necromancy. The necropolis that remains is the capital of Niflheim.

Kansk: Dwarf city in the northern Dragonback Mountains. Founded in 5942.

Koelland: Border province of the Dwaffenreik and chief province of the Nordmark.

Krankzinnighied: The Citadel of Madness.

Mad Miklos Haorai: Ulfendar Captain.

Maidos Harpalus: Prince of Nordheim and captain of the Ulfendar.

Marzana: Island kingdom in the White Sea.

Master Ritter Balon: First Captain of the Ritters, the dwarf elite warrior monks.

Minauros: One of the Lords of the Draakheeri.

Morrigan: Sorcerous queen of the High Elves.

Muspel: Capital of Muspelheim and home of Surt.

Muspelheim: Kingdom of the Fire Giants far to the south. Ruled by the fire giant Surt.

Mountains of Ind: Homeland of the goblins, orcs and trolls far to the east. These mountains form the eastern border of Zagros.

Nazirikhan Wastes: Wasteland north of the Nastrond Range. Inhabited by the barbarian ratten and the undead remnants of the Empire of Kalach.

Niflheim: Frozen land north of the Nastrond Range. Niflheim is accessible only through five passes, Helgate, Na-gates, High Pass, Garm's Gate and Nidhogg's Breath.

Nordheim: Human kingdom bordered by the Nastrond Range, the Dwaffenreik and the Draakheeri Empire. Its current king is Ulerich Grimnr.

Nordmark: The semi-autonomous northern border provinces of the Dwaffenreik. The provinces are Koelland, Doncaster, Boden, Kish, Drakos, Santander and Styrland. Styrland was overrun by the orcs and ratten in 456.

Oberon: King of the Elves until 10393 when he was slain by Thord.

Orikhazia: The desert lands inhabited by the trolls and orcs. Periodically an troll or orc warlord will lead a band into the western lands wreaking much mayhem. In March 455, Wadak Troll-king did just that laying waste to much of Nordheim and Styrland before being killed at Two-Rivers Pass.

Palamon Kreed: Grandmaster of the Dark Templars. His brother, Artimus Kreed, the first Grandmaster of the Dark Templars was killed at the second battle of the Two Rivers Pass in April, 456.

Plagueguard: Elite troops of the ratten.

Portals: Magical gateways which allow one to instantaneously travel from one portal to another regardless of the distance between them.

Ragnar Molitar: Duke of Boden.

Ratten: Man-sized, intelligent, mutant rats that dwell north of the Nastrond Range. The Ratten are servants of the dark gods and allied to Terminus Eldorado.

Ratte-ogre: giant beast creations of the ratten mage-priests. While not very bright, the ratte-ogres are deadly in battle.

Razziz-Xa: Lord and spiritual leader of the Ratten.

Sardaar: Title of Draakheeri nobility. Only given to pure blood elves who are among the first born and alive prior to the Garglyn wars.

Saule Alban: Landsdraak of Koelland.

Semargl: Island off the coast of Messantia.

Sepah Salaar: Title given to the ruler of the Draakheeri Empire. Means Supreme Leader. There has been only one leader of the Draakheeri that is Thord.

Silvandros: High Elven capital on the Island of Aelfheim.

Slaaneshi: Elite heavy infantry of the Draakheeri. Drawn from many races including minotaurs, orcs, centaurs, beastmen, lizardmen, the Slaaneshi are Thord's mainstay troops.

Soulbinder: Thord's sword. A magical artifact of great power which can be used to bind the will of others.

Sptizbergen: The chaos islands. Island chain located northwest of Aelfheim.

Stone Dwarfs: Dwarven kingdom of the southern Dragonback Mountains. Founded 9979.

Svarog: Island off the coast of Messantia.

Terminus Eldorado: Avatar of the Old Gods. Also known as the Dunkelsdraak and the Lord of Endless Night.

Thord: Elven Warlord. Sepah Salaar or Supreme Leader of the Draakheeri. Thord is one of the first born of the elves and has lived more than ten millennia. He was captured and imprisoned by the Garglyn for a thousand years. It is commonly believed that his imprisonment drove him insane.

Triel: One of the Nine Lords of the Draakheeri

Typhon: Greatest King of Kalach. Turned into a liche by Xanthus and now a chief lieutenant to Terminus Eldorado.

Ulfendar: Rangers of Nordheim.

Valanthys: Place of power north of Jormundar where the Portal to the Abyss is located.

Vels Elberich: Landsdraak of Doncaster.

Victor Franz: Last Emperor of Jormundgaard.

Victor von Kel: White Knight of the World Serpent. Currently in the service of Nordheim

Vislek, Grand Duchy of: Kingdom completely within the Dwaffenreik. It is protected by the Bitter Sea to the north, mountains to the west and the Von River to the east. The Duchy is ruled by Grand Duke Wieran Ropsmenin.

Vrijhid: Capital of the Dwaffen Hegemony, founded in 10465 after the defeat of Terminus Eldorado in the War of Shadow.

War of Power: War between the Elves and Garglyn which ended in the Sundering and the end of the First Age.

Xanthus: Arch-liche and right hand of Terminus Eldorado.

Zakhar: Dwarf city located on the River Urd which was conquered by the Dark Elves.

Zagros: Human kingdom in the eastlands beyond the Draakheeri Empire.
