Event Cards
Supply 2: Provides two steps of Reinforcements. These may be added to friendly Brigades located in a Supply City with a maximum of 1 step per Brigade. Supply Cards may also be used to raise Cossack units. Supply cards are the only way to increase the strength of Brigades already in play.
Supply 3: Provides three steps of Reinforcements. These may be added to friendly Brigades located in a Supply City with a maximum of 1 step per Brigade. Supply Cards may also be used to raise Cossack units. Supply cards are the only way to increase the strength of Brigades already in play.
Force Battle: The attacking force has stolen a march on the enemy. Playing this card allows an attacking Army or Brigade to move first before any other moves are made. Any enemy Army or Brigade that is attack must give battle and cannot move.
Fimbulwinter: This winter is especially harsh. Any Brigades which are not in winter quarters and therefore out of supply are Eliminated from play rather than sustaining a step loss.
Winter March: Your troops ignore the hardships of winter and take to the field. One Army or Brigade may move normally ignoring the effects of winter and supply.
Relief Column: You are able to organize a supply column. Any Army or Brigade that is currently out of supply is automatically in supply.
Spy: Allows you to ask one question as to enemy locations or strength.
Brilliant Attack: May only be played if you have a Leader present. That Leader has come up with a brilliant plan of attack giving all attacking Brigades a +1 combat rating. Therefore, Infantry Brigades would increase from B2 to B3.
Heroic Defense: May only be played if you have a Leader present. That Leader has rallied the troops to make a heroic defense giving all defending Brigades a +1 combat rating. Therefore, Infantry Brigades would increase from B2 to B3.
Rout: Played when an attack is made. If the Attacker wins, the defeated army completely disintegrates and all Brigades and Leaders are automatically eliminated.
Fighting Withdrawal: Played in defense. Allows an army defeated in battle to regroup and rally all of its troops. The defending Army or Brigade recovers all step losses sustained in the battle.
Rebellion: Subject peoples in an enemy province rebel against their oppressors. You may place one full strength Infantry Brigade in any unoccupied city within that province.
The Maritime Powers: Sweden only. Great Britain and Holland lend their Fleets to Sweden to make one attack in concert with the Swedes. The Maritime Powers' Fleet is A4 with a Combat Strength of 24.
St. Petersburg: Russia only. If Russia has founded St. Petersburg, the Russian player may move the capital to St. Petersburg. This increases Russian income $5 and Russian manpower +4. In order to be defeated both St. Petersburg and Moscow must be captured by the enemy.
French Subsidy: Poland only. France sends four (4) six-sided dice in income as a subsidy to Poland.
Foreign Trade: Denmark only. Denmark receives eight (8) six-sided dice in income from trade with Great Britain and Holland.
Veterans of the Low Countries: Prussia only. One full strength Prussian Infantry Brigade returns from the wars in the Low Countries and is added to Prussia's available troops.
Eugene of Saxony: Austria only. The Eugene of Saxony Leader is available to Austria. Eugene has a Move of 4, Strategic Rating of 4, Combat Rating of A4 and Combat Strength of 5.
Hungarian Revolt: Hungary rises in revolt against Imperialist Austria. Hungarian rebel forces are placed in all unoccupied Hungarian cities.
Ottoman War with Persia: Turks and Persians are at war, again. The Ottoman player receives 1/2 income for the duration of the war. In order to end the war, the Ottoman player must roll a 6 or higher on one die. Add 1 to the roll for every Brigade sent to fight the Persians which become unavailable for the remainder of the year.
Venetian Ally: No effect unless Austria is at war with the
Ottoman Empire. When played Austria gets control of the Venetian Fleet
for one year (spring to fall). Venetian Fleet - 12 ships, 9 galleys,
7 transports.
