Swedish I Fleet (12 Men of War) attacks the Danish I (12 Men of War), II (7 Men of War), and III (6 Galleys) Fleets at 1510. Battle is a DANISH victory. The Swedes lost 2 Men of War and retreat to Malmo. The Danes lost 2 Men of War and 1 Galley.

Danish 1st Cavalry Brigade (4 Cavalry) attacks the Swedes at Stettin (6th & 7th Infantry, 12 Infantry).  Danes retreat after one round of combat.  Danes lost 1 cavalry, Swedes lost 1 infantry.

Swedes under Stenbock (2d, 3d Cavalry, 2d, 3d Infantry; 8 Cavalry, 12 Infantry) attack the Russians (Karelian Infantry, 6 feudal infantry) at Pskov.  Swede victory.  The Russians were routed, lose 2 FI.  Swedes had no losses.

Swedes occupy Pskov and Vitebsk.  Swedish troops at Stettin.

Danes occupy Lubeck.  Danish troops at 0311.

Polish troops reported at Polotsk.

Prussian troops reported at Berlin and Colberg.

November 1, 1700.  Spanish King Carlos II died without male heir.  In his will he named Phillip of Anjou his heir.  This was an acheivement of French diplomacy which had won over the amibtions of the Austrian line of the Habsburg Dynasty.


Winter, 1700

Sweden under Stenbock (2d, 3d Cavalry, 2d, 3d Infantry; 8 Cavalry, 12 Infantry) march east out of Pskov and Rhenskojld (1st, 2d Dragoons, 2d Guards, 4th, 5th Infantry; 5 Dragoons, 4 Guards, 12 Infantry) marching south attack the Russians under Menshikov (1st, 2d, 3d Infantry; 18 infantry) at Novgorod.  Swede Victory.  Swedes take no losses.  Russians retreat to the southeast and lose 6 infantry.

Sweden occupies Novgorod.

Sweden under Charles moves south on the Dnieper River and occupies Kiev.  Mazeppa and the Ukrainian Cossacks declare for Sweden.  Ukraine becomes a minor allied nation of Sweden beginning the Spring, 1701.

Denmark annexes Mecklenburg ($2/1mp).

Part of the Swedish Army in Novgorod is out of supply.  Only the two Cavalry and one Guard Brigades may winter in the City.  The two Dragoon and four Infantry Brigades are out of supply.  Sweden loses 2 dragoons and 4 infantry.

The Russian Army under Menshikov at 1911 is out of supply and loses 3 infantry.
